Can anyone stop North Dakota State from threepeating?

With everything GSU has coming back on offense I thought we would be able to at least give them a high hurdle but with us not having playoff eligibility who else can end their winning streak of playoff games?

The Injury Bug, Jackrabbits, Penguins to name a few.

Montana Sta.... nope, couldn't do it with a straight face
Maybe the Griz if we have anything resembling coaching and pass defense, and get them in WaGriz somehow...
Seriously, how do you gain 400+ yards rushing and lose, and give up nearly 700 yards passing and barely lose on the last play of the game? The mind boggles

Of course. They were beaten by Indiana State and won three conference games by 6, 4, and 3 points. They beat Wofford by 7 in the playoffs. I pull for them when McNeese isn't in it but they were clearly beatable. And it only takes one slip up in the playoffs to end it.

To answer the question...yes.
NDSU has proven that they can be beat, or beat themselves, as with the Indiana State game last year.
Barring major injuries this year, I expect the Bison to make it back to the NC game. With 19 or 20 starters coming back and 10 one defense, they will be very tough to beat in '13.

I, for one, hope NDSU meets up with EWU this year.

I'm thinking probably someone from the Valley.
Of course, you don't have to win the Valley to win the NC. (See WKU back when they were a member.)

SIU will be a tough game this year too!

Most likely means they are both in the National Championship game or NDSU is not a seed. The committee has been sending NDSU to the East the last couple years.
Took me over a year to figure out who Bill Fette was, because it was mostly JBB, Lakes, EWU Ranger and SE that were discussing him and I basically skipped through the post.

I stopped by SE's place once and he had an autographed poster of him in his living room.

It's true.
- Spoiler: show
- Grizza bought it for me at an auction.

- The only thing I bought at an auction was an EWU jersey for Kalm but I have yet to give it to him.

If Delaware State wins in Fargo then probably will miss the playoffs.
With 19 starters coming back...I think the Bison have a pretty good chance.

Also Youngstown State in 1997. Of course it was the Gateway back then. But one thing that always makes me shake my head is the fact that McNeese beat the 2nd place team from the Gateway (Northern Iowa) during the regular season, beat the Gateway champion (Western Illinois) in the playoff quarterfinals, then lost by 1 point to the third place team from the Gateway (Youngstown State) in the 1997 national championship game.
Of course it wasn't real fun to see McNeese beat Western Kentucky 38-13 during the regular season in 2002 then lose to the Hilltoppers 34-14 in the national championship game either. It's always a bitter pill to see your team lose in the national championship game to a team you think they could...and should...have beaten. And I'll go to my grave thinking that happened to McNeese both times they got there.

Welcome to being a Griz fan!
The first time the Griz got to the national championship game, the Griz won. They made plays. They didn't do things like have an all conference tight end drop an easy TD pass so that they had to settle for a field goal and commit a facemask penalty on a third down play during a sack that would have stopped the other team's only TD drive in a game that ended in a one point loss.

You mean someone signed Jackie Smith?

Way off topic I know but to this day I sometimes need therapy for that one in the form of talking about it. The drop by McNeese's all conference tight end...can't remember his first name but his last name is Fontenot...was worse in terms of how easy a pass it was to catch. When Jackie Smith dropped a pass in the Super Bowl it was not a good pass. Smith was running across the end zone to his right. The ball was thrown low and to his left so that he had to slide down and move his torso back to try to catch the ball near the ground.
In the 1997 championship game Fontenot was just standing in the end zone. Don't know how close the nearest YSU defender was because none of them could be seen on the TV screen. They were inside the 10 yard line and he was close to right in front of the QB so it was a short pass. He was so wide open that the QB just kind of lofted him the ball softly. He was standing there and the ball was thrown perfectly. He was standing straight up and the ball hit him right in the hands right at about chest level. VERY easy catch.
I try to remember that they'd have never been there if he hadn't made plays earlier in the tournament. Like he made a great catch on 4th down in the semis at Delaware with a Blue Hen defender all over him to keep the Cowboys' game winning field goal drive alive. But the fact that he was a clutch player all year just makes the pill of him dropping that extremely easy TD pass in a very close championship game more bitter. You could throw him that pass 1,000 times without him dropping it. But when it REALLY counted and very possibly made the difference between winning a national title or not he dropped it.

The answer is NO
Unless they have injuries.....then anything is possible except MSU winning a big playoff game.
