I spoke with a friend, well not a good friend him being a Bobcat fan and MSU grad, and he was complaining about his ticket price hike this year. I couldn't understand all of his bitches and moans but my question to him was this:

If you want a nicer stadium, better locker rooms, weight rooms, film rooms, etc... how exactly do you think those will get done? What is the big deal about another 5 or 8 or whatever, still don't know the specifics, dollars per game?



Delaware fans need not apply due to them being too far gone to understand anything that involves ticket pricing.

He might be upset about seats that require a Bobcat Club membership which are raising their rates 20%.

I've heard some complaints, but I don't think it's any more or less than the complaints that arise out of any other cost increase. As for me, I have 4 season tickets which means I'm purchasing 24 tickets and the increase was about $6 per ticket. That's an additional $144 for the tickets. This coming in the same year that my level of Bobcat Club membership increase was $50. So of course there will be some mumbling and grumbling.

What I'm expecting is some movement within the stadium. Those that aren't willing to pay the higher rates will move to different seats, while others will take the opportunity to grab the better seats. I've been trying to move my seats closer to a friend's block of seats for some years and I'm hoping this will open up seats for that to happen.

I think Peter Fields is doing a pretty good job of managing the dollars in an effort to make those very improvements that Grizaholic wrote about happen.

Thanks. Whenever I get my little letter notifying me that I need to fork over money for season tickets, I usually say fuck me and why the fuck am I spending this much money on football tickets...all the while I am writing out the check.

Fast forward a few months

Get home from a shitty day and grab the mail...inside is my tickets and I am all happy, long forgot about the money.

The way I look at it is this: You spend 35whatever dollars for the game and another 40 or so on drinks and whatnot, not many things you can do for 75 bucks and have a great time with a few thousand of your friends
