Football back at ETSU?

Per a vote by the East Tennessee State University Student Government Association, the university will re-add a football team.
The president of the university, Brian Noland, approves of it. Per the @BringBackBucFB Twitter feed, the school would hire a coach in May this year, play a JV schedule in 2014, and in 2015 would start a full schedule.
ETSU was kicked out of the Southern Conference after earlier dropping its football team

Good news. Will they still play in that quonset hut of a stadium?

Apparently, they will rid themselves of the Mini Dump for a new open air stadium.

It's a throwback to when teams actually DID field JV teams. They cost too much now, especially when we have so many freshpeople and sophs competing at a high level on the varsity.
What this likely means is that they will play jucos that first year, and then ramp up to a 4-year schedule the second year.

SoCon will be adding ETSU, Mercer, VMI soon according to the rumors

I think the addition of ETSU, Mercer, and VMI are signs that ASU and GSU are most likely leaving.

Just to clarify, the reason the SoCon wanted them out is that ETSU was one of the biggest opponents of letting VMI stay in the conference when they wanted to play in a different conference for football. Not that I disagree with them, but if the shoe fits..........
Apparently the rumor is if they bring back football they will be considered for SoCon membership.

Well they certainly want to and the SoCon needs to be proactive in replacing them. Can't wait until they are gone

SoCon should go ahead and offer them all now.

The top 6 teams in the SoCon would have whipped the Griz this year you peripatetic pogue.
When ASU and Stink go, the SoCon will still put 3 in the playoffs and all three will be head and shoulders above the autobids from at least 3 other conferences.

You are an even bigger rube than I thought if you think the Socon puts 3 in when we leave

The only think that we know for certain is that when GSU leaves for the big time, it will have won its last national championship.

Boy you must think the SoCon was a vacuum before GSU showed up there, Chattown.

You are clueless if you don't think with a total of 12 at-large bids two of them won't go to SoCon teams.
The SoCon obviously won't have as many teams making deep playoff runs without GSU and App., but every year the SoCon has at least one team sitting at home who is as good as some of the at-large teams in the playoffs. If GSU and App. leave they will get their chance.

So? The top 6 teams in the BSC beat the Griz too...that has nothing to do with the fact that the SoCon will NEVER regain it's former glory when the top two marquee teams depart simultanously. If you think they're that easily replaceable you're a bigger peripatetic pogue than myself.

I wonder if they demolish the dome or find another spot? I remember going to see my brother's band competition there forever ago.
