Gonzaga and Cal State Northridge

So for the last hour I have been trying to find information regarding Gonzaga and Cal State Northridge's football teams from the times each were in the Big Sky. Google searches and a bit of digging find... nothing. Not even the school websites have history information about their teams. Why is it so hard to find any information, pictures, or websites? It's like after they stopped football, they dropped off the map. Anyone have any information about either of these teams? Or at very least, pictures?

Best I can find on Ganzaga is they had a record of 129-99-21 between 1892-1941 with no temas in 1894, 1895, and 1900-1906. No team since 1941, and were never "Big Sky"
from 1892-1941 they were "Independent" and when the NCAA was formed in 1937 they went NCAA Independent from 1938-1941 in the Major College division

The link from Brock is going to be your best bet for Northridge

I knew Gonzaga was a charter member and played football but it doesn't sound like they did during their BSC membership.

They dropped football 22 years before the Big Sky was formed

clenz is correct.
According to the College Football Warehouse, Gonzaga dropped football in 1941 and never brought it back. For their entire football history, they were Independent. It appears that they were charter members of the Big Sky (probably dating to the old Skyline Conference) for Olympic sports only.
Gonzaga was 3-7 in their last season. They were horrible, with a point differential of -136. Of course, that was skewed a bit by the egg they laid against Wazzu in the last game, a 59-0 whitewashing. EWU fans will be chagrined to learn that they lost to this bad team.

Unfortunately, the warehouse does NOT have data for Northridge. Perhaps Brock's link has it.

2506: Go to Gonzaga's page on that warehouse. You'll learn that Gonzaga dropped football in 1941. Their Sky membership was for Olympic sports only.

Yes, they dropped football well before the BSC was formed, and this is one of the reasons they were eventually forced out of it.
Gonzaga football - better off forgotten. Same with Northridge.

Yeah. Their fans seem to be pretty full of themselves, almost to the point of being a mass of JBBs. Now that the hated UOP is joining their little fiefdom, they want out.

Trying being across-town from them. Pretty annoying, to say the least.

Yes, they were a non-football school in the Big Sky. The only one in the history of the conference.

Don't care, either way. We don't need them for football, and to be honest I think they'd be a mid-level Big Sky team right now, even with the extra schollies. To be honest, if the Big Sky really needs another Olympic sports school, and I think it does, there are other options out there that would be better than getting fucked around by Idaho.

Ok so Gonzaga was no in for football. But there has to be some information out there about Cal State Northridge. I have tried several searches on google and only one picture comes up, the link to the records is great, but I know there must be more out there. Who were their players? Any in the NFL? What stadium did they play in? Who were their rivals? The head coaches? This is team that played since 1962 until 2001. I don't understand why there is virtually nothing out there. Even the Big Sky media guide has very little, if anything about them. I still havn't heard back from CSUN's front office, I sent them an e-mail asking about their program's history, and so far no answer. I really wish there was something out there to find.

Little bit of Big Sky history - Northridge was brought into the conference in the mid-90's along with Sac St. and Portland State, in order to off-set the departures of Boise State, Idaho, and Nevada. Their time in the Big Sky was really brief, perhaps only a few years, before they dropped football and moved to the California Bus League (Big West). I don't remember where they played at, though. Some of the California guys probably know more.
