Angus McClure is currently the DL Coach at UCLA. His intent was to highlight the signing of a former UCLA player by the Seahawks, but in the same article he linked to FB was this little FCS-related tidbit: the Seahawks also promoted rookie DB DeShawn Shead of Portland State from their taxi squad to the active roster.

Congrats! Way to make a name for the Big Sky!!!!

MSU OL Mike Person is with the Seahawks now too, he has been on the active roster for about 4 weeks now, I dont believe that he has any game time yet

Isn't Shead a bit not tall for cornerbacks these days. I'm thinking Seahawks may use him at safety, and I wouldn't mind if he got a crack at punt return. Now that Browner pulled his appeal (tough to lose that beast) and it doesn't look good for Sherman either, maybe Shead is what we "need". (or is pronounced "shed"?) At least Zona is a good bad-opponent to break him in against.

I'm not sure I'd call 6'1" "not tall" for a CB. The DBs I've seen in the League have tended to be quite a bit smaller. The Seahawks themselves have a pair of 6' evens (Northwestern State and Newberry College) and a 5'10" (Wisconsin). Their lone F/S is 5'10", as is one of their two SS. DB has historically been a short speedster's position.
