Brian Jenkins vs Doug Williams would be an interesting dynamic. You would have a narcissistic, power hungry individual who would be living off the success of his past and show zero respect to his superiors or the ones working under him.
And on the other sideline would be Brian Jenkins.

Not that I don't like Doug Williams, but the way he is currently running the program at Grambling and the animosity he shows towards the Administration there while Gram fans continue to suck him off as the "savior" is getting ridiculous.

Not true, Doug is on thin ice with the Grambling faithful. If only you could hear how hard they are on him and DJ

Is Southern really a better job than Bethune-Cookman? I don't recall them playing each other- maybe they have, my attention is limited- but it seems to me Bethune-Cookman fields the better team more often than not.

Southern is 5-0 vs. BCU although they haven't played since 2006. Right now their program is higher and the past 3 or 4 seasons their team has been better. But in terms of facilities and fan support Southern is a better spot.

In Jenkins' case, it basically boils down to whether he would want to have his overall goal for the season being to beat FAMU, win the MEAC and try to win an FCS championship or to beat Gram, win the SWAC West, and win the SWAC championship game.

When he first took over for coach Robinson he simply asked for changes involving the football program. The school turned him down then he left for the NFL.He wanted a updated weightlifting system for his players, but the school found time to build a new basketball stadium.

Me personally I think he will stay at BCU.

Always wondered how the ppl felt about that arrangement and it was mentioned in telecast of the Bayou Classic, when on the field it's coach and QB at home father and son.

They probably wouldn't mind if DJ was the better QB on the team.

Too bad Rivers isn't on your squad would like to see what type of arm he has.Rivers is 6-6 220 so size isn't a issue.

I know I went down this road before with Joe Gibbs at Washington, TJ, but as something of a Grambling fan (at least for the Bayou Classic, anyway), Richardson's Southern teams scared me to death. He could easily do that again.
Besides, with my widely scathed comments about the Iggles replacing Reid with Vermeil, you HAD to have seen it coming, right?

Any idea what Southern is looking to pay? It seems like Jenkins is probably one of the guys who's earned the right to be considered for an FBS job. While I'll argue 'til I'm blue in the face that FBS low-lifes aren't all their cracked up to be, the difference between FCS and low-level FBS is usually at least $300k. That's hard money to turn down.

Southern will pay no less than 200k, don't know what he got at BCU.

The reason I think Jenkins will stay at BCU is that they will get in the playoffs simple as that.

I doubt he's making much into the 6 figures at Bethune-Cookman. Maybe $125k at best. If Southern represents a $75k raise, that's substantial. But if he's got a good shot at making $600k at Central Florida or Toledo when one of those type of gigs opens up, might not be worth it.
