You know, I think Central Arkansas may actually be the slightly better team overall here. However, it's in Statesboro & UCA hasn't played an option team. Those two factors give a narrow advantage to the Eagles.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:
- Quarterbacks -- Central Arkansas
Running Backs - Georgia Southern
Receivers/TEs - Central Arkansas
Offensive Line - Georgia Southern
Defensive Line - (push)
Linebackers --- Central Arkansas
Secondary ---- (push)
Kicking ------ Central Arkansas
Punting ------ Georgia Southern
Return Teams - Central Arkansas
Kickoffs ------ Central Arkansas
- Central Arkansas 24-28 Georgia Southern

Sam Houston killed us when they ran the spread option but they didn't run it that much. Really excited for this game. At least it wont be 29 degrees like montana was last year!

I guess I should have specified that UCA hasn't played a "typical, flexbone option team."

I'll take GSU in a high- scoring game, 33-27.

Defensive line is not a push. Other than that, I would agree.

After watching the game today I sure wouldn't. I know the quarterbacks are asked to do different things in the offenses but the Georgia Southern quarterback was clearly the dominant offensive player in that game. Georgia Southern clearly had the edge in the quarterback position today.
I think Georgia Southern's quarterback got nicked though. You remember when they said something about him limping. And he was. After that he wasn't quite the same and I think that kind of kept Central Arkansas in the game as Georgia Southern didn't score any more after that. I think if he hadn't gotten nicked and slowed down a little Georgia Southern would've won that game comfortably...two or three touchdowns at least.
