Who won the Woofed award this year for most deserving team left out?

Chose EKU but UR and T-M were right there with EKU. Would need more time to break it down between those three.

Chose Richmond, but Towson would have been my pick, if that selection had been available.

I only included EKU as a courtesy. They were 6-2 in a conference that hasn't won a playoff game this millenium. Their marquis win was over playoff bound Coastal.

No Delaware option?

Just like if Cal Poly would have lost, it's hard to imagine an 8-3 BSC team with an FBS win misses the playoffs.

I can see a case for NAU, but a "landslide"?
Wins over playoff teams:
Richmond - 1
Albany - 1
EKU - 1
UT-M - 1
NAU - 0
Lehigh - 0
Losses to non I-A or non-playoff teams:
Richmond - 0
Lehigh - 0
EKU - 1
Albany - 1
NAU - 1
UT-M - 2

Towson would be my choice over any listed, but chose Richmond.
NAU lost it's playin game with Cal Poly.

With NAU, the win over Ft. Lewis may have counted against them. committee sees them with 7 wins and goes from there...crazy

Surprised at all the Towson over Richmond responses. Too many people using logic instead of thinking like the committee. Have they EVER put in a team with a worse record and same conference record?

Towson would beat every choice listed.

Who got woofed indeed.
It's a tough call, but I gotta go with NAU who are 8-3, not 7-3. They had the 7 wins which included one over FBS UNLV.
Somehow the committee chose SHSU over NAU/UR/Albany/Lehigh etc, etc. Must have been SHSU's strength of schedule. They foolishly tied into both Baylor & Tx A&M (lost both by 20+ pts) Plus they played Incarnate women's club and Texas Southern. Along with their impressive record in the mediocre SLC, where they lost the AQ to Central Arkansas. Somehow the 3TD losses to Baylor & Tx A&M overcomes the mediocre conference and poor choice scheduling a Div II in a year with 2 can't win FBS games. Can't decide if SHSU's AD is arrogant, in desperate need of money or just plain stupid. SHSU may be the best team of the 20 and may take the championship. But they should not be there. NAU should be. Or Lehigh, or UR, or Albany etc, etc.

Actually, they got NAU'd-started out promisingly, then choked down the stretch.

Well, if NAU is 7-3, so is SHSU.

Correct, but SHSU is in the field so they weren't woofed. I posted last week that SHSU was a LOCK for the field since they were 8-3 (7-3) and were runners-up last year. Doesn't mean I think they're better than NAU or Richmond or whomever.
Like I said earlier, I think NAU has a legit claim to get the Woofed award, but they are NOT a clear cut winner. No wins over playoff teams and not having played EWU nor MSU really hurt their chances. At the beginning of the season I gave NAU no shot at playoffs because of scheduling. Two I-A's and a DII is not a recipe for a playoff bid. I honestly thought they would be 0-3 after their first four games.

They picked the wrong year to finally beat Montana.

No kidding. It sucks for them, but they did schedule 3 non I-AA games. I don't feel sorry for anyone who does that.

I'm no fan of the UR, but if 8 Div I win, 8-3/6-2 with a BCS loss isn't good enough to get a CAA team in a 20 team field, then the playoffs definitely need to be expanded to 24.

If the playoffs had been expanded to 24 this yr, then would have had Drake with the Pioneer AQ, plus 3 more at large. It would have likely been:
-UR
-Lehigh
-TU
JMU and NAU would have been the top 2 woofed...
1. North Dakota State Bison (126) 10-1 3653 1
2. Montana State Bobcats (12) 10-1 3461 2
3. Old Dominion Monarchs (6) 10-1 3310 4
4. Eastern Washington Eagles 9-2 3176 5
5. Sam Houston State Bearkats (3) 8-3 3141 3
6. Georgia Southern Eagles 8-3 2779 6
7. Appalachian State Mountaineers 8-3 2688 8
8. Central Arkansas Bears 9-2 2510 10
9. Wofford Terriers 8-3 2318 9
10. Stony Brook Seawolves 9-2 1953 12
11. New Hampshire Wildcats 8-3 1910 7
12. Cal Poly Mustangs 9-2 1817 17
13. Lehigh Mountain Hawks 10-1 1802 14
14. Villanova Wildcats 8-3 1627 16
15. Towson Tigers 7-4 1626 19
16. Illinois State Redbirds 8-3 1611 11
17. James Madison Dukes 7-4 1290 13
18. Richmond Spiders 8-3 1244 20
19. South Dakota State Jackrabbits 8-3 1178 21
20. Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 8-3 1073 15
21. Eastern Kentucky Colonels 8-3 803 22
22. Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 9-2 612 24
23. Indiana State Sycamores 7-4 442 18

25. Eastern Illinois Panthers 7-4 258 24
