Most Surprising Result: (#15) Northern Arizona 34, (#17) Cal Poly 42 - A 2-game slide at the end was still not enough to prevent NAU from achieving their best record in 9 years.

Most Surprising Result: Youngstown St. 27, (#18) Indiana St. 6 - While the Sycamores pull an NAU & throw another postseason bid away, the Penguins also get to spend the offseason wondering what might have been

    Overall: 15-14

    vs. FCS: 0-1
    Overall: 11-4

Best Performance: Jacksonville St. 0, (FBS) Florida 23 - The Gamecocks never managed enough offense to threaten, but their defense did hold a top-flight SEC team to one offensive touchdown.

Worst Performance: Tennessee Tech 31, Austin Peay 38 - Trailing Austin Peay 31-0 at the half… I think that speaks for itself.

Most Surprising Result: Tennessee Tech 31, Austin Peay 38 - The last two OVC auto-bid recipients have each gone 3-8 the following season.

    Overall: 17-16

Best Performance: (#14) Lehigh 38, Lafayette 21 - A 10-1 season always looks good, but the playoff selection committee still saw through the Mountain Hawks' complete & total lack of impressive wins.

Worst Performance: Georgetown 0, Holy Cross 24 - The offense just wasn't there for the Hoyas this season, as displayed by their gaining of just 196 yards against the 1-9 Crusaders.

Most Surprising Result: Holy Cross 24, Georgetown 0 - Despite the solid win, the Crusaders still end up posting the worst season of head coach Tom Gilmore's tenure.

Tomorrow: the rest of the playoff conferences.

Worst Performance: Rhode Island 6, Maine 55 - The Rams are used to being a doormat, but going 0-11 and only losing one game by less than 20 points (Brown) is pathetic even by Rhody standards.

Most Surprising Result: (#7) New Hampshire 35, (#19) Towson 64 - The Wildcats have this done to them at home, yet still get in the playoffs ahead of the Tigers and get a first-round bye to boot? :?

    Overall: 11-21

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 4-9

Best Performance: North Carolina A&T 22, NC Central 16 (OT) - Partially due to a series of bad snaps, the Aggies hold NC Central to 127 yards and minus-46 yards rushing.

Worst Performance: Morgan St. 17, Hampton 27 - The Bears lose despite forcing the Pirates into a 26.8 passing efficiency rating (4/18, 42 yds., 1 TD, 3 INTs).

Most Surprising Result: Samford 3, (FBS) Kentucky 34 - With their playoff hopes on the line against a 1-9 FBS team, I expected a much better fight from the Bulldogs.

* - I know Georgia State is still technically in the CAA this year, but I'm counting them as FBS and as a non-conference opponent for CAA teams (same as UMass last season).

Tomorrow: what's left of the non-playoff conferences.
