Game of the Week No-One's Talking About…

No, this is not a joke Griz/Cat thread.
Samford goes to Lexington to play Kentucky this weekend. If they win, the Bulldogs will be 8-3 and I'd be shocked if they missed the playoffs. If they lose, they'll have 6 DI wins & be out. In other words, we have an FCS team playing a de facto playoff game against an SEC team. Normally, that FCS team would be screwed, but Kentucky is 1-9 with 8 straight losses including a loss to WKU & a 40-0 loss to Vanderbilt.

8-3 with only 7 D-1 wins doesn't mean as much this year as it has in the past, they'll probably still be out.

8-3 power conference team coming off an FBS win. It would be shocking if they didn't make it.

7-3 in the eyes of the committee. It's different. Even with a win, they'll need help to make room for them.

Wouldn't be shocking at all. They'd still be a fourth place team in the SoCon. Probably a moot point anyway.

Typical response to an FCS beating Oregon State or Colorado (both ostensibly in a BCS conference): "But they don't count because they SUCK!"
If that's true (and I'm not saying that it is), then it should ALSO apply to Kentucky. But it won't because of everyone all over the SEC's jock....

Well, so much for that…
Wildcats win 34-3.
