Villanova at Delaware

I haven't been paying a ton of attention so all I really know is that UD's offense is pretty subpar this year and they've lost five of six.
Here are some things on Villanova:
1. We could be without both our quarterback, our long snapper, or possibly both with head injuries. Also, Norman White didn't play against JMU with an MCL sprain.
2. Obviously this is a must win game.
3. Villanova has done well in Newark recently.
4. Last year's matchup was very close for most of the game in what was essentially a game at a neutral site.
5. Obviously this is a much better Villanova team than last year and I think the running game is as good or better than it has ever been. Even if UD stops the run reasonably well, I have enough confidence that they'll be able to throw the ball IF Robertson is playing quarterback. If Polony is playing quarterback, they had better run for five yards a carry or hope for some defense.
Fill me in Hens fans?

Villanova should win, but wouldn't surprise me if UD pulls the upset. UD has nothing to lose. Should play loose.
Hens have been decimated with injuries since before the season even started. OL and D backs blow. Hurley has heart but is usually beat tf up by the end of most games. Offense is the most boring and predictable in all of FCS. Our d-line doesn't create much pressure but has been showing more in the past few games. That's all I've got. I'll be there.

I know this sounds terrible, but I kinda hope Delaware loses. A losing season might emphasize more that the Blue Hen ship is off course and something needs to be done for it to be righted.

Interesting facts:
Number of Delaware losing seasons since WWII - 9 of 62 seasons (14.5%)
Number of Delaware losing seasons under KC Keeler if Hens lose Saturday - 3 of 11 (27.3%)
And of course, we're already painfully aware that Keeler has missed the playoffs in 6 of the last 8 seasons, while earning over $300k/year.

Thanks for the insight. What's the general barometer about Keeler? I mean, he's won a Championship, made it to two other championship games, but he's had a few of the worst seasons in school history too, so it seems like all or nothing.

Keeler is under a hefty contract through 2017. We're stuck with him. Sure, a lot of us would like him gone (see our attendance trend), but it ain't happening.

Looks like John Robertson is going to be good to go on Saturday.

It always seems the better team overall during the season loses. So I would not be at all surprised with a UD win.

A Blue Hen Fan wishing for a loss???? Hmmmm????
Anyone who thinks KC is going anywhere is obviously deluded. With Three Championship Games in Ten years, something his predecessor only did once in IAA in 20 years, KC is solid at UD.

My prediction is that UD will keep the game close, but 'Nova will pull it out in the 4th quarter.
I hope the Hens win, but they just aren't that good this year.

Nova 27, Hens 21, OT.

Death to Villanova
- Spoiler: show
- 's playoff chances! Go Hens. Be the spoiler today. It's all we have left to look forward to. I couldn't give less of a shit about going 6-5. Rather see Keeler get yet another losing season on his resume in fact.

I know Keeler ain't going anywhere, but maybe another losing season will help him put his tremdous ego in check and realize HE needs to start doing things a little differently. Maybe a little innovation on offense? Bring somebody in who can make mid-game adjustments? Something. When your teams are only good when you are fortunate enough to have an NFL quality QB, there is something wrong - and elite QBs are a rare commodity at this level of football.

Six of last eight seasons out of the playoffs. That's all you need to know about Keeler.
