Just a quick question to get everyones opinion. What is considered " A deep Run in the playoffs" is it the Semis, or the chipper? Does the fact that Some team get a bye extend the amount of games that team has to win to go "Deep"? Is it winning 2 games? Your thoughts

Hey, NDSU beat the team that beat Alabama, the team that can beat any NFL team.

I'd say at least two wins, unless one of them is against an OVC, PL, or MEAC team.

Which means EVERY CAA team & SoCon team has to make it to the semis.

Not at all, just wondering. I hear alot about "Make a deep playoff run and then you can talk" I just was wondering if that means semis or losing in the championship game every time we get there. I am well aware that the Cats have to prove themselves and that winning one game at home in the playoffs is not going to cut it.

To lose in the championship game you have to actually GET there first.

Again, I never said it wasn't. Losing in the championship game would be considered a deep playoff run. I am not trying to start smack (not this week at least) I was just trying to make sure us in knowing, never been, never will be Cat fan idiots know what it means. Don't rape...sorry I mean rake me over the coals. The fact that the Cats could be a HIGH seed just gives me a sense of extacy, and I won't suspend that feeling for even ONE GAME.

I think a deep playoff run is the semis, no matter how many wins to get there.
But I always thought a "very good" year could be classified as at least making the quarters (back when we had 16 teams it was basically if you played December football or not).

Agreed. If you play in the round of 20 you only need to make the quarters.

May not happen very often anyway. Play-ins go to the seed the next week.

I didn't read the posts, but deep is the semi finals. Nobody remembers the rest of the field the following year.

Happened twice in 2010:
NDSU beat Robert Morris and Montana State
Georgia Southern Beat South Carolina St, W&M and Wofford
Nobody did it 2011
2 out of 8 so far.
