Mediocrity Returns- Keeler Minus Flacco-Devlin

The pattern continues.
Greetings from "BangorHen".
Another powerhouse pretender strategy.... rah rah rah for West Chester, Bucknell, and Delaware State... Keeler resume builders....followed by stellar coaching as is the pattern without a "gift QB" from Penn State or Pitt.
So..... how many more years will it take for the dwindling GoHens apologists to figure it out? The growing number of empty seats in Newark and boring game atmosphere sure makes it a long day just to enjoy a few tailgate beers and a slab of scrapple.

Forgetting DII West Chester... UD's four FCS wins came vs opponents that are a combined 8-24 and yet some Hen fans are still dreaming about the playoffs.

I've taken to driving to other states to watch good football.

I think Keeler's welcome is worn out in Big East locker rooms. He can't, ahem, "recruit" QBs from there any longer.

It's not like Big East quarterbacks are a significant improvement over what the Hens currently have.

Teddy Bridgewater from Louisville would start at 75+ % of BCS schools
Sent from the nexus of the universe

Thanks for clearing that up. I really thought the Hens QB's were better than every Big East QB.

Today's attendance vs Towson.. is the worst I've seen at UD stadium.. what use to be 23,000 is now half of that.

Hen scratch
Paid attendance of 16,252 at Delaware Stadium Saturday was the lowest for a regular-season game since Oct. 11, 1997, against Richmond (14,324).
It was still the third highest figure at an FCS game and higher than seven FBS games Saturday ... That was paid - there were a bunch of no shows.
Our worst attendance is still better than all but three of the rest of your teams.
Not saying that is what I would like I would rather have a full stadium, but if one of the missing is Banger - then I am OK with it.
KC is not going anywhere - has a contract extension until 2017. If the admin has been happy with the performance of the men's basket ball coaches for the last 15 years then KC is here for life. And oddly enough the attendance has nothing to do with who we play. The top attendance game year in and year out has been West Chester. Tying the attendance to who we play time and time again in the face of the facts of the actual numbers is just stupid ... but play on anyway.

As one of the signatures on GoHens states:
"Delaware football is dead."
Renewing my season tickets is going to be a very difficult decision in the Spring.

If Keeler were fired 14 days from now, I'd ask if I could renew early.
I'm sick of boring football, lack of halftime adjustments, and the two years of suckitude in between each playoff appearance. Add to that an athletic department who has given football STHs the proverbial middle finger. We've lost 40% of our season ticket holders in three years, yet the AD keeps on playing its violin as the Titanic turns nose down. It's depressing.

You'll be back, you know you will. You'd miss my Gold Lot musings and scrapple too much.

I forget..... when is the UD-Pitt game? Is this the last FBS opponent UD fans will ever get to see during the KC era? If the home attendance continues to decrease at what point does KCs "we make more money at home" theory fall apart and an FBS "money game" become economically advantageous?
UD77..... thanks for the "shout out"..... can't wait for the playoffs.... you have any plans?

By most accounts on GoHens, 10,000 actual attendance would be a generous estimate.
The pictures on The News Journal appear to confirm this.

Well, that's because ironically App State, Montana, and JMU were all away last weekend.

I trust your estimate.
I've heard the excuses (first "cold" game of the year; some of the fan base might have sustained Sandy damage or been without power), but man that's just bad attendance, particularly with the team still holding onto playoff hope, however slim, at the time.
How was the scrapple?
