Towson @ Villanova- 10/27

Which way will this tilt?

Villanova- Coming off a big two week road swing where they throttled both of their conference opponents, Villanova will take their historically prolific ground game led by freshman sensation quarterback John Robertson and sophomore tailback Kevin Monangai. This is homecoming for Villanova, which means that there will be literally dozens of alumni in the stadium!

Towson- The Tigers must win this game if they want to keep their hopes of making the playoffs for the second consecutive season alive. Towson destroyed a bad Villanova team last year, but Villanova has only lost to Towson once since 2007. Will they be stymied by the raucous Villanova crowd?

Yeah, I couldn't write that with a straight face, considering that our crowds have not only been sparse, but they've also been quiet.

Should be a great game. Everything points to a VU victory, but I think Towson can win if there are no lingering ripples from whatever is going on with Terrence West that would cause him to see reduced playing time. Like you said, every game is a playoff for Towson now, and they're not a bad team.

 They are certainly one of the best 4-loss, FCS, black & gold wearing, teams in Maryland.

Game could hinge on West, or lack of West, the continuing soap opera that looks destined for divorce at some point you'd think.

Villanova playing at home, with their band & students making it hard for Towson to audible should be worth 6 points alone which could make the difference...I heard a JMU fan say that about their band before & felt compelled to use it here. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

You failed to mention by far the biggest question mark of this game: What is going on with Terrence West????

I apologize for pimping myself, but it's not even a given that the band will show up. Now they probably will because it's homecoming, but Hoops Mania is a night earlier and the Blue/White scrimmage is earlier that day.

What evidence do you have that nova's band has ever shown up for a home game?

I haven't missed a home game since 2006. That's a pretty solid record.

Congratulations. You are the first poster to use the word "ominous" to describe the UD football team since early January 2011.

There's probably a half dozen of us. I'm just the only one younger than 60.

Why thank you!

The Nova-UD game is always a toss-up no matter how good or bad either team has been during the season.
