Take a Picture, Griz Haters...

Take a picture of the standings....it'll be the one and only time in your lifetimes you'll see somthing like it...it's rarer than Haley's Comet....rarer than a competent democratic president....rarer than steak tar tar. The Griz will NOT finish this season with a winning record....first time since 1985. They've lost 5 games, only the third time since the beginning of the Don Read era that's happened. You are witnessing history in the making, so make sure and remember it so you can tell your children and your childrens' children.

The Griz will be back. With a vengence....just gotta do a little house cleaning this off season. :? :? :?

Z, didn't you say that montana would go 10-1 and that nothing would have a negative influence on the team?

Whats the excuse?

No kidding. ISU got throttled by UNC so I say the Griz win that one, however, Weber just beat SUU on the road. Griz could easily lose that one an If McGhee can throw MSU could beat Montana by 3 scores in Missoula....

+1

I seem to recall more than a few folks saying that the coaching changes and all the off the field stuff would have zero effect on UM's record this year.

So much for that.

I can't imagine what it must be like to be a cat or Lumberjack and only have a good year every now and then

No wonder they're so full of hate

If Mick is our coach next season, I can't imagine we have a good season next year, either.

I'll wait to agree with AZ until I see what Haslam is cooking up for next year.

If we go 1-2 to finish the season, heads will roll in Griz nation.

I'd be surprised if Delaney wasn't here next year. He was short on time when he got the job, there were a ton of young players, he didn't get to choose his staff, etc.

It's not like the Griz have been horrible this season. They're 3-5, but flip around 3-5 plays and the team's at least 6-2. And keep in mind UM figured to be worse than last year even before the offseason mess.

Yeah, that's really the most frustrating thing. We have the talent to be a playoff team, but things just haven't come together like they need to to be successful at this level.

Yeah, the Griz have the raw talent to be a playoff team. A lot of the most talented players are young, though, & have been thrust into positions young players typically aren't for this team. I do like the future, however. Some particularly impressive freshmen have been McKinney (at times), Henderson, and the two kickers.

What is disappointing is the lack of clutch from some of the veterans, though. For example, a disproportionate amount of the key dropped passes this season have been by Greg Hardy (not to mention the fumble today), & he's not someone I expected to do that.

random trivia fact:
This will be the first year since 1986 where neither Montana nor UNI are in the playoffs.
(okay, so I suppose it's still mathematically possible for one of them to win their conference, but it ain't gonna happen)

I get that, and I understand completely, but I'd say at least 70% of those plays were caused by bonehead coaching.

I wasn't expecting us to go undefeated and win the chipper had nothing gone wrong, but I still think the team would have had much better cohesion and far less trouble had Pflu not been canned, especially on offense.

We may have way more talent and experience next year, but it won't mean much if our coaching doesn't improve.

This isn't like the bullshit hate Hauck got for winning by 7 instead of 70. There are huge, visible, glaring concerns.

If there was one picture that just summarized this season, I don't think you could find a better one.

I was one of those guys. I know the talent is a little young, but I just never expected promoting two coaches (Head, DC) from within and getting a former NFL QB (OC) who had EWU looking good to have such troubles.

Rosie is a good coach, but as I said before the season I question whether he's the best guy to run a spread option offense. He's a pro-style guy.

I'm not a huge Xs and Os guy, but I can imagine that would be a HUGE transition to make, especially on short notice.

Just didn't think the Griz would have a good season after the off-season frolics. Picked UND to beat them prior to the season starting. I do see this as just a bump in the road, the Griz will be back.

As an NAU/PSU fan, I'm sure you're all too familiar with the feeling. :dunce: :dunce:

Obviously I am not an OC, but when you say he is best suited to a pro-style, it makes me think of a mechanic who says they can only work on Fords. Like working on a Honda or a Saab is too different for them.

No disrespect to you Ranger, but the guy gets paid good money to be an offensive coordinator AND, he should be able to develop our inexperienced QB's as a former pro. We all expected him to bring more passing to the offense.

If he isn't good at running a spread offense, then why was he hired? I realize he had connections to Pflu, so maybe we hired the wrong guy. Once again, not trying to be a dick, especially since I know he has forgotten more about football than I could ever hope to know. Just thinking out loud.

In all fairness to the guy, the Griz are averaging 30.9 points a game. Not exactly sucking. Just bummed that when we really need to get some points, they seem to lay an egg.
