The Aggies and Lumberjacks will kick-off their first-ever game up in Flagstaff in just under an hour. The Aggies defense better not play like it has the last couple of weeks, or it could be a loooong evening in the elevation. Should be a good one, the Jacks have won 5 in a row and the Aggies have scored 37+ points in three straight.

Watching the simulcast on NAU-TV. It's going to be a great 2nd half.

I don't think anyone expected a defensive struggle with 10 punts in the first half. I think things will open up in the second half.

Aggie rushing improving with each game but what happened to our passing game. Inconsistent QB and WR play is killing us. The Big Sky Conference Player of the Week was back to his usual inconsistent play this week.

Reminds me of the old "Good Rex/Bad Rex" debate. Tonight we got the Bad Randy and we lost a great opportunity to pull off an upset on the road over a top-20 team. Nice performance by the D.

Pressure is what happened. NAU added a couple of little alignment twists with personnel that put a ton of pressure along with 7 sacks on UCD's QB and the line was constantly in a "who's got who" (or whom?) quandary. You saw in the second half UCD was forced out of the spread and into having to keep a tight end in the game to try and pre-empt the pressure and the collapsing pocket. You're QB is a pocket passer and gets nervous on the move. UCD was forced to run the ball in glaringly passing situations, even employing unbalanced lines, because of the pressure. Uncharacteristically of NAU's defense that has been in a nickel a good part of the year, Thompson loaded the gaps and took away the check off routes

I was at the game in Flagstaff and must have missed what happened to Austin Shanks. What's the scoop?

Jacks and Aggies defenses both deserve commendations. That was smash mouth defense. Offenses both looked sketchy but NAU made enough plays to pull out a win. Don't like the throw-back (trick play pass) to Grossart at all but understand the need to try to get things going and become less predictable.

Tailgating and community atmosphere was positive. Turn out at the game itself could've been better. Student section did its part. Really hoping that final game of the season vs. Cal Poly is for all the marbles. That would be a fun way to finish the season up.

So glad I found this forum. There seem to be more nau fans posting here than on our own forum. Go Jacks
