Big Sky Predictions 10-6

Currently I am sitting at 39-8 after a disasterous 3-3 record last weekend. This weekend actually begins on Friday with Cal Poly going to Weber State. Six games again this weekend with Northern Arizona sitting out. Here is my attempt at perfection and I certainly need it to get back in the game.

CP at WSU---As I said, this game is being played Friday night. The Mustangs are motoring along, having won all their games so far including Wyoming. They disposed of North Dakota on the road last week. They come to Weber State who had problems last week at UC-Davis, but looked good at home the week before. Looking good won't win, however...CP 28, WSU 20.

ISU at PSU---Interesting game here. The Bengals have a strong passing attack and the Vikings are weak defending the pass. The Vikings are well known about their rushing attack and the Bengals struggle stopping the run. Can anyone say shootout?...ISU 54, PSU 48.

UM at UNC---The Bears have had an extra week to get ready for the Grizzlies and the rest of the conference schedule. The Grizzlies did everything and then some to salvage the season last week at Eastern Washington. This may be the week the Grizzlies get it together and move on...UM 24, UNC 17.

MSU at UCD---The Bobcats continue to move on with their winning ways as they were able to outlast Southern Utah on the road last week. Now they continue on the road, this time going to UC-Davis who found an offense last week against Weber State to go with that stingy defense. This could be interesting...MSU 24, UCD 14.

UND at EWU---The Eagles, fresh from having their red turf snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat last week against Montana, now welcome the Dakotans to the inferno. UND looked great on the road two weeks ago at Sacramento State, then Cal Poly made them look ordinary last week. This week, another chance at ordinary...EWU 38, UND 28.

Sac State at SUU---The Thunderbirds actually looked pretty good at home last week, taking Montana State down to the wire. The Hornets exploded on offense last week in the barn at Idaho State. The trick is trying to get that same explosion against an actual defense...SUU 38, Sac State 17.

1) There is no WAY the UM/UNC game is going to be closer than the EWU/UND game.
2) If the UM/UNC game is a 7-point game I'll eat my hat.

Glad to see there are others out there besides Coach Burton that has faith in our pass defense.

Well, the Bengals could only get 31 points out of 534 passing yards last week.

PSU's offense can play keep away, since ISU's run defense is truly awful.

Blitz 7/8 guys every play and Yost starts air mailing it as his OL can't protect him even if they wanted to.

CP @ WSU – 31-10 I think after last week WSU will just be going through the motions.

ISU @ PSU – 49-35 Circus game alert. A lot of point and yards should be seen in this one. Ultimately I think PSU pulls it out at home.

UM @ UNC – 38-13 If UM struggles to throw the ball down field...aw hell, it won’t matter. UNC might hang for a while but the Bears don’t have a QB.

MSU @ UCD – 31-17 Could be interesting if cal davis can keep its momentum on offense. This will be far from an easy one for MSU.

UND @ EWU – 35-31 EWU could be in trouble if their injuries at LB are still around for this game, however EWU should have no problem moving the ball on UND. I think EWU will be able to out score UND to pull this one out.

Sac State @ SUU – 35-20 We are terrible in the Mormon state and Safron has struggled to throw an accurate and effective ball downfield. I don’t think a heavy run game will get it done for us this week. If we fall behind big, I would love to see Magleby get reps at QB.

I see two possibilities for upsets: UND & UCD.

If that happened it would open the door for Cal Poly to take the conference title.

Yeah, picking a game after it's over halfway through is kind of cheating.

You get a half game advantage, and still can't get it right!

All of you that picked SUU to win. All I have to say is

On a serious note, this Hornet team is playing with a lot of heart and emotion, especially for John Bloomfield who from the reports I read is being taken off life support tomorrow. Please have Sacramento State and the Bloomfield family in your thoughts and prayers tonight and tomorrow

You're excused ;) (cause we all know in the past how much of a letdown our team has been to us).
