RI gets 4 transfers from Rutgers

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island football head coach Darren Rizzi announced today that four players from Rutgers University will be transferring to URI and will suit up for the Rams this upcoming fall.
Quarterback Chris Paul-Etienne (Miami, Fla.) and tight end Tom Lang (Concord, Mass.) will both have two years of eligibility at Rhode Island, while wide receiver Robenson Alexis (Boca Raton, Fla.) and defensive back Rob Cervini (Suffern, N.Y.) will have three years of eligibility at URI.
"With the addition of these four quality student-athletes, the Rhode Island football program has taken a big step forward," Rizzi said. "Having known these student-athletes at Rutgers I know what they will bring to the table and I know that they have the type character we are looking for in this program. "
All four student-athletes are enrolled at URI for the current semester and will take part in spring practice.
Paul-Etienne spent the last two years backing up RU starting quarterback Mike Teel, who led the Big East Conference this past season with 3,418 passing yards. The Florida native saw action in four games during his RU career.
