Ahhh yeah. It's nice to finally post one of these. The long off-season is over.

The University of Delaware kicks off yet another promising season tonight here at Delaware Stadium as the Blue Hens play host to West Chester in the final chapter of this local rivalry that dates all the way back to 1941. Both teams will be looking to make return visits to the NCAA Tournament after missing out a year ago. Delaware posted a 7-4 mark in 2011 but missed out on a post-season berth by a single game. This year the Hens, who return 14 starters, have been picked in the Top 15 in virtually ever pre-season national poll. West Chester, which like Delaware is a consistent post-season qualifier, is coming off a rare losing season with a 5-6 mark a year ago. The Rams are a veteran team with 13 starters and numerous seniors returning for the 2012 campaign.

BHBK, I should be in the Gold Lot around 6pm. Have some logistical issues for this game that are preventing a proper tailgate. Only the essentials tonight: small cooler with a six-pack and a Primo's hoagie.
I'll be there when the gates open for the Hornettes next week though, grill, canopy, flags, etc.

If you have any desire to go, Vern, I have two tickets I'm throwing away. 35 yd line, 4th row.
Same offer goes for anyone in the area that needs a ticket or two. Rather not just toss them if someone can make use.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind to see a West Chester vs DSU game. We need more local opponents for home games.

It's a meaningless game. A win doesn't help, and a loss doesn't hurt. If the Hens have 7 D-I wins they are likely in the playoffs.
D-II games are worthless.

I thought defense was supposed to be a team strength this year? West Chester's RB has 192 yards rushing now with time still left in the 3rd.
