Prior to Sacramento State: Spent three seasons at Nebraska (redshirt in 2009)…tallied five tackles, including four on special teams in 2011…had a season-high two tackles in the opener against Chattanooga, including one while seeing action in the secondary…added stops on coverage teams against Washington, Minnesota and Northwestern…made his collegiate debut in the Cornhuskers’ win at Washington in 2010.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Leuzinger HS in Lawndale, Calif…closed out an impressive career with a strong senior season in which he had about 70 tackles and two interceptions…helped his team to a 6-4 record…was an all-league pick and a third-team CIF all-state selection for his efforts as a senior…as a junior, he caught 15 passes for approximately 300 yards and five scores…on defense he earned first-team all-league honors after tallying 50 tackles, two interceptions and one sack.

Personal: Majoring in business administration…son of Kemba Smith…earned Big 12 all-academic honors in 2010.
