What's wrong with Wofford, Towson and SB in those spots?

Yeah, all of those teams are underrated. Montana I understand a bit but by the end of the season they'll be much closer to 10 than 20.

NAU is underrated at 14? They'll probably finish like 10th in the Big Sky

I must have ignored their name on premise. Yeah, not sure about that one.

Typically, yes. I don't know how you can completely discount the affect of a rape scandal that cost a coaching staff, players, and administration their jobs.

It'll obviously have some effect, but there's no way of knowing just how much until we play the games. That's why I think everyone's predictions of doom and gloom are premature.

It is premature, obviously. But it is also faulty to attribute this year as "just another reloading year", as well IMO. The circumstances are very different, and it is yet to be seen how negative the impact will be.

The first 5 weeks will definitely show what were made of. Tough schedule... Im looking forward to it, especially to see how the players respond.........

1 coach
2 players (only one of which was a starter)
While I get the premise of the argument, that isn't exactly "upheaval" between the lines. We shall see how the distraction affects them, however.

I think they are all too high. I don't think Wofford is a top 10 team let alone top 5 and I need to see Stony beat somebody before they crack the top 10; almost beating SHSU doesn't cut it for me yet. Towson... it's a mix of disbelief from last year and me thinking that they very well may be 0-4 (win over St Francis) to start this season.

Not with Baumann they won't. I'm thinking more like 4th or 5th.

I don't think anyone outside of a few Cat fans and BF are predicting doom and gloom, I just don't think it'll be a 10-1/9-2 type season for Montana. My opinion isn't based on all the upheaval (although I do think it will have some sort of effect, even if it's marginal) - but rather, the players that are returning/new staff/multiple new starters/etc.

They had him last year, with four less teams, and couldn't manage that

True, but 4 of their losses were by a score or less. Five if you count the 8 point loss to EWU. Didn't they have a pretty young team last year as well?

Preseason rankings are fun to banter about but don't mean much. Middle of the pack in the Big Sky until the Lumberjacks prove on the field they can win the close ones. I'd be giddy as a school girl to see a ranking of 14th but won't be holding my breath.

Yes. They lost pretty much all of their league-leading 2010 defense last year, but they didn't lose much this year.
The 'Jacks have the personnel to make the playoffs if they can stop choking in the clutch.

If Brad Sorensen is so good, why can't he elevate his team to the Top 40?
