One of my favorite shows on TV is the Molly B Polka Party! I've yet to miss an episode, and I have most of 'em recorded.

I've yet to hear Bergvagabunden on her show, and I'm pissed!

While this is the official fight song, you will also hear "Sons of California," "Big C," and "Roll, Big CA, Roll" regularly played as fight type songs during games. The first two you may have heard before as they are shared with other UC schools, "Sons" being basically the same at every one and "Big C" played in different keys and with different words at each campus. "Roll" still mentions our former Northern California Athletic Conference opponents from way back, so perhaps it's time for it to get a rewrite.

This Youtube rendition runs through it twice. That's a good thing because it has two versions of the lyrics, the first of which has never been used at any Hornet game I've ever attended. Maybe our other fans have heard it; I certainly haven't. From the time former assistant coach Angus McClure resurrected the fight song during the late '90s, the second of these two lyric sets has always been used. I'm also not sure where the guy who posted it got the idea that Sac State was in the Big West; outside of baseball (and perhaps one other sport), Sac State has NEVER been in the PCAA/Big West.

Agreed. I couldn't sing the lyrics, but I can definitely play it on the quads.

I've listened to a ton of fight songs - had a play list when I was in HS of about 120 different fight songs - and no homer on this one UNI is one of the best I've heard

EWU's seems more like the traditional fight song in terms of the actual music. But I think UNI has better lyrics....

Arizona threatened to sue Towson because we had the same fight song, just different words. So Towson changed it a couple years ago. It fucking sucks.

Did they actually do that? It was my understanding that Princeton had the winged helmet design first.

Our second HC was a QB on Arizona and blatantly stole the tune and made new lyrics. Just sour grapes from me, 30 some years of singing the fight song after wins, gone. Arizona was well within their rights to do what they did. They are just a-holes for doing so.

Montana wins this one easily. Any fight song that can fit in squealing pigs is top notch. Kinda though Appy State would have worked that in somehow.
