On Friday, the Colonial Athletic Association, which will lose member schools Old Dominion (Conference USA), Virginia Commonwealth (Atlantic 10) and Georgia State (which will join the Football Bowl Subdivision in April) after the 2012-13 season, made a formal invitation to Davidson, College of Charleston and Appalachian State—yes, ASU, to become league members.

and CoC and Davidson according to that.
Question, when offers are actually extended, are they announced? The seem to be when a school request such as UNCC to the SoCon.

Conferences don't normally make an official offer unless it is known that the offer would be accepted. Much like all the recent FSU & Clemson rumors to the Big 12, I suspect that this may be just another rumor.

Maybe CoC & Elon, but that's it. I can't see how the others benefit from a move. This will be make about the third time CoC has been invited (maybe they will leave this time), and it could help Elon in its student recruiting footprint.
