The hosts of the Football Championship Subdivision championship say they hope the title game will continue to be played in Frisco.
"We think this is the home for this game now," said Tom Burnett, commissioner of the Southland Conference, which hosts the game with the city of Frisco and the Hunt Sports Group.
In January, the NCAA Division I Football Championship between North Dakota State and Sam Houston State attracted a record sellout crowd of more than 20,000.
But next year's title game could be the last time the championship is played at FC Dallas Stadium. The partners' three-year contract with the NCAA expires in 2013.
"I'm of a firm belief that what we're doing this year is really about this year and the year after," Burnett said.
He and city leaders want to sign a long-term deal. Earlier this year, a group called "Team Frisco" traveled to Indianapolis to present their case to the NCAA.

Good crowd, but "record"? They beat the year before.

The fact that the NCAA isn't putting it up for a bid says just about all you need to know about the immediate future of the game anyway.

Chatty hotel rooms going cheap on Hotels.com...
Seriously, we'll have to see how well they draw if a Texas team ain't in it this year.

Probably no different than Chatty did when a SoCon team wasn't in it. Probably a little more. The move to Saturday they did last year will help even when a Texas team doesnt make it.

From all reports I've heard, Round Rock is a pretty good place to stage a title game. The IWFL is headquartered there, and that is where they stage their championship weekend, complete with two title games and an all-star game. There is also a AAA baseball team stationed in Round Rock (the Express, affiliated with the Rangers).
The football stadium looks to be pretty good.

I'd go (even though we'll be FBS in 25 days). That stadium is 3 miles from my house
Dell Diamond is about 10 miles

OK. Good reason, clenz. The only reason I can see to force it, then, is to have everyone from CS hang out with CM.

Bring friends who can cook, like to drink, smoke pot and get naked, CM.
