7. GSU
8. ODU
9. EKU   I agree, though I did have them ranked
10. WOFFORD
11. UNI
12. LEHIGH Why are people rating them this high (or at all) even though they lost Lum?
13. JMU
14. BCC  Also questionable. They could be decent, but probably not Top-25 worthy
15. ILL ST  A little overrated, but not unreasonable (I had them #24)
16. SFA  They won their last 5 last season and didn't lose much; I had them #12.
17. UNH
18. MURRAY ST      That's exactly where I had them.
19. HARVARD
20. YSU
21. DELAWARE
22. EWU
23. GRAMBLING ST
24. STONY BROOK Too low. I had them at #13 and I'm probably underestimating them.
25. JACKSONVILLE ST

I don't see why not. Liberty lost a lot more than SBU did. Not to mention Liberty's inability to win the conference no matter how good they are.

Serious question... why would ANYONE put an OVC or MEAC team in the top 20? Combined they are 0-31 in the playoffs since their last win, which was NCA&T over Tennessee State in 1999, so I'm not sure that even counts. :dunce:

Serious question: would anybody put Montana in the top 15?

New HC
New OC
New DC
10 new starters on defense
6 new starters on offense
DOJ Investigation ongoing
DOE Investigation ongoing
NCAA Investigation ongoing
Possible expulsion of starting QB

Yeah....things are rosy in Missoula.

Hermanson, Kanangatta, Harris and Tripp weren't starters last year?

Kanongata'a counts as a starter since he started the vast majority of the games (he & Tully are the returning two).

But Hermanson, Tripp & Harris make it effectively 5 returning starters. Good past depth should ease UM's graduation losses on defense.

Hermanson wasn't a starter. He might have played starters minutes, but he technically wasn't the starter....but you fellas need to ease up on the facts. I'm tryin' to lower expectations here. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

The expectations in Missoula are the lowest they've been in 18 years. You're just getting greedy.

Me too would have thought this honor would have gone to Norfolk St since they were in the playoffs !!!!!Surprised Grambling got in as well considering the off -field problems with Doug Williams and his salary demands!!!!!!

It does count also don't forget Florida A&M's victory over Appalachian St 17-12 2000.

That was also 1999. Still 0-31 since.

great post ....I made a similar comment on AGS. The bottom line is that Montana has a reputation for winning....they deserve that reputation. But nothing that I have seen occur this off-season would suggest that they should be in the top 5...I'm a bit surprised that Cal Poly is not in this poll at all; maybe after they go 8-3 in the BSC and to the playoffs they'll get some votes?
