The 2001 National Champion Montana Grizzlies (15-1) will be inducted into the Montana Hall of Fame. Great job, guys!

When are the recent Eags champs to be inducted into the EWU HOF? That would be worthy of note as well.

Would've been interesting to see how that NC game comes out with Louis Ivory playing. Or better yet, how it would have come out if GSU hadn't choked away a 10 point half time lead in the semifinals.

Well, Ivory did play. He was dinged up, for sure, and wasn't a factor, but he did play.
A decade plus later, two players still stick out in my mind in that game: Will Bouton (was that his name--not sure), linebacker for Furman, who was all over the field; and Yo Humphery, running back for the Griz, who would not be denied.

...and Ivory did indeed play the whole game. He was just getting hit in the backfield every carry.
That defense

Here's a question for Griz fans to ponder. I was watching an old DVD of the '93 UD/UM game... Dave Dickenson's first loss ever as a starter since Junior High I believe (had to put that in)...
In you opinion, looking at one of the greatest FCS QB's of all time, who wins the '95 Griz or the '01?
It's the off season, what else do we have?

'95

I honestly believe both would lose to the '96 team

...and if we had had better coaching there is no reason the '07 and '09 Griz teams should of lost to anyone...

Depends on what part of the season we're talking about. The '01 Griz would likely beat the '95 regular-season Griz (9-2 with three DII wins & a mediocre defense), but would likely lose to the '95 playoff Griz (four wins over good opponents by an average margin of 38 points).

Most likely. Dickenson was better than Ah Yat (of course), but almost everything else about the '96 team was better.

Oh I get it, you're doing that thing you do in every one of your eGriz posts
What can I say, we've put some good products on the field. Nothing wrong in being proud of that

Oh please, spare me. You guys think you should win every game versus every opponent, no matter if it's DII or the NFL. I'll never forget the prognosticators of Egriz with their "We'll beat Tennessee by at least 17..." last year. Illusions of grandeur.

I thought for sure the 17-point Tennessee win would come to fruition.

Oh fuck off

Our 2007 and 2009 teams were great, end of story. Both lost 1 game (by a total of 3 points) because of our stubborn ass coaches. If you want to turn that into some sort of Griz fan arrogance circle jerk, take it to BCN. God knows there's enough crying about our team and fans over there at any given moment.
And name one sizable fanbase that doesn't have individuals that spout off predictions like that. You don't think ASU had fans predicting a win over VaTech? NDSU fans that wanted a shot at Bama? Bama fans that think they could take the Rams? For the record I had us losing by 21, I was only 5 points off.

Cat fans = Idaho fans. More interesting in bitching about Boise State than following their own team

We follow our team plenty. We're just the only ones who point out the idiocy that runs rampant.

That is one problem with The Griz constantly wiping their asses with the Cats. You tend to get lulled to sleep by the incessant beatings and then project that on to the good teams you face as well.
I'm not saying it's all the Cats fault, but a lot of it needs to be shouldered there. You know what I'm sayin'.
