Southeastern Louisiana, WR, Brandon Collins, signed with the New York Giants ... of course he's more talented than a lot of WRs who were drafted or who initially signed as UDFA's so it's no surprise he impressed them enough to sign him ... his Pro Day numbers rival most WRs at the Combine and his vertical jump would have been the best at 45 inches ... he'll make their roster if he can stay out of trouble ... he was trouble free with us the last two years, let's hope it's a permanent change.

What type of off field problems did he have????

Nigel Carr(LB) of Alabama St has signed with Baltimore.He like Collins had off the field problems like burglary for instance while at Florida St.

Jewell Hampton (running back-SIU) signed with the San Francisco 49ers.

While certainly no choir boy, Collins' charges were overhyped & overcharged to begin with and eventually dropped ... no doubt he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and brought it on himself, but he's not the "thug" those charges portray him to be ... he had some difficulty "fitting in" here initially, but he's been a solid citizen and hopefully he'll seize on the opportunity.

UNI OT Jay Teply had a contract offer given to him by the Vikings one day...went to the doctor for his physical found an irregular heart beat that was never previously detected by any doctor....and they pulled the offer the next day.


Jay is now on medication to fix the irregularity and is talking with the Vikings to get the contract offer again.

Um....no....Did you miss the part where I said it was "never previously detected by any doctor"?


During his time at UNI and growing up he has probably been to the doctor/had physicals more times than can be counted.


He was a great lineman, hopefully something works out for him

No-class like the Whiners when they dumped Carmazzi. The RIGHT move having given him the offer sheet and knowing that he would sign would have been to pay for his treatments.
