You're probably thinking SWAC and SoCon right off the bat, I know  , but where is it easiest in our world to get in and to get out, if you ever do?

Thinkin' myself that the Texas and Luzianne schools got some pretty loose standards. An' I'm also thinkin' one does not need MENSA paperwork to do a couple years at Youngstown State or South Dakota.

Any other thoughts?

Texas Sts standards are higher then SHSU or SFA but thats not saying to much. Then again those standards let some hot loose girls in the school.

TxSt standards are actually pretty high next to most of the colleges in TX and is higher and/or equal to a number of the FBS schools also.

top 10% of your HS class - no minimum requirement
top 25% ACT 20 SAT 920
top 50 % ACT 22 SAT 1010

If you really want to see the TX standards, I found this:

Problem with those standards (I live in TX for a while) is that a kid in the top 10% of a high school class in the Valley and a kid in the top 10% of a high school class in San Marcos or Round Rock or the North side of San Antonio are not equals...by any stretch of the imagination...yet they get equal treatment in admissions into Texas colleges and universities...

I agree Col. But once in TxSt you had better prove yourself. My daughter taught a couple semesters and she was not beyond handing out failing grades, and she did too. Even to athletes. She had a number of the football players in her classes and they were usually amongst the better students. She did not play favorites either.

Interesting you mentioned Round Rock. My kids went to RRISD schools.

I don't know how good or bad their academic departments are, but I believe Sac State is the only Big Sky Conference school to not offer any doctoral programs.

Ga Suth'rn.......and at El Cid, all you apparantly need are knee pads, chap stik and the ability to trace your lineage to one of the soldiers who ran away with Beauregard as Sherman approached......

And I don't think you can judge the academic abilities of a particular institution just on it's level of degree awarding ability...

Some schools are actually prohibited from going to the doctorate level by local or state edits...based on the original intent of the institution when it started...

Yeah, I guess my info was a little outdated. The California legislature allowed the Cal States to offer independent doctorates starting in 2007.

No, of course not, but it definitely affects the academic reputation. Reputation is all most people unfortunately seem to care about in university evaluation these days anyway.

UT is getting upset with the rule. They say they are unable to offer enough spots to students who aren't in the top 10% and qualify.

Is this another one of those "the south shall rise again" things?. And well i agree with Ga Southern the Citadel, definetly not. Seriously show some respect for the guys in uniform who will eventually be helping to protect your ass. I only say this because i have two brothers in the army and i respect all military personel.

Then you don't need to worry about respecting anyone from The Citadel, 'cause they ain't really military personnel. Sure, they wear a uniform, but their "alternate" unis tend to be much more exotic

Soulman attended the institution generally referred to as Furman's little sister
:D

and without Furman's support for SoCon membership would have probably joined the Big South

Sorry Mark
