FUCK YOU for allowing FSU to pay the buyout of the UNI game this coming fall! Now UNI is left without a game just months before the season!



At least when UNI does it they do it more than a year before the game to allow time for changes...this is just 7 months from the game!

All the Big Least schools are looking for opponents with West Va's abandonment of the conference....find out who West Va was supposed to play that weekend and give 'em a call.

UNI nows has open weeks Sept 8 and Oct 6th. I can promise you UNI is going to do everything possible to keep the Oct 6 date open. UNI opens up @ Wisky, insert new game at home, at Iowa, at YSU, vs NDSU, then the other open date with the weaker portin of the schedule. Oct 6th must remain open.

UNI, you've been Furman-ed!!

I don't think I can blame Savannah State for going for the money. They could've gotten blown out by UNI or they can get blown out by FSU for a lot more cash. What I'm wondering about is Florida State. Are you telling me that if they were going to do that sort of thing they couldn't have come up with something better than Savannah State?

BTW, I think this means Savannah State plays both Florida State and Oklahoma State in 2012. Ouch.

Hopefully we get a more interesting game.

Where is your word? Honor your word (as well as your contract). There is no amount of money in the world that makes this right, unless UNI agreed to it in advance and was happy about it, which does not sound like the case.

I hated to hear about Furman doing that to Delaware a couple of years ago and it grips me every time I hear something like this. You can always make money, but you only get one chance to honor your word.

They did exactly that by paying the buyout (or having FSU do it).

Sure the situation sucks, but these posts about how they aren't honoring the word just make me cringe. There are provisions in all these contracts about how one team may get out of it. In this case Savannah St exercised that option. No "word was broken".

UNI should at least move this year's SUU game to Cedar City.

UNI bought the SUU game in in freaking August....about 13-15 months before SUU would haven't taken the field against UNI. They have had plenty of time to find games, as the schedules were only about 30-40% done at that point.


UNI was bought out with 7 months to go and 99% of schedules done. It sucks, but SSU did exactly what they are allowed to do. Unfortunately it look as though UNI will be forced to go with a D2 game....

IF there is a buyout clause in the contract, I see nothing wrong with it. If you are so worried, but a buyout clause in it and make the buyout half a mil, then the game will get played.

Probably in the bottom 2% of all 1-AA programs. Savannah State is in a great city, but the program is terrible.

Schedule a d-2 and move on - they are no more valuable as an opponent than a middle of the road d2.

The only MEAC school I respect is NCCU, and that's because of the way they treated our boys two years ago. Classy folks.

Sav St is in dire financial straits and has been since moving up from DIV II. They opened a new on campus stadium last year. They turned over the entire Board then fired the coach Robby Wells. Coach wells then sued the school for racism.
That case was recently settled out of court for $250,000. They need the cash to pay Wells. After paying Wells, Fla St won't be a money game at all. It will just pay the bills that they already wrote the checks for. They really have little choice but to play 2 money games then the second year of their MEAC opponents and the schedule is full.

We still need one more home game for next year.......ya wanna play twice next year?? haha I said that as a joke, but is that even legal for two conference opponents to do? Most likely not, but at the same time why not?
