Damn Statesboro. No decent hotels.

Selig and Wilder were expected to attend a mandatory administrative meeting the night before the Monarchs game in Statesboro, Ga. However, with Statesboro being such a small town and the Monarchs opting for full-service hotel accommodations, Old Dominion’s travel party elected to stay the night in Savannah, Ga., which is nearly an hour’s drive away.

ODU got one heck of a deal there. $2000 worth of fines for 3 more hours they didn't have to be in Statesboro.

Ah. The issue was attendance at a pre-game meeting. Non-issue, as far as I'm concerned. The HC stays to prep his team AS HE SHOULD. The AD was at a wine-and-dine thing. Fine. Who cares? The school and team were represented. So it wasn't the AD and HC? So what? Are they the only people at ODU with the brain capacity to make decisions? So they delegated that task to others, just like the President delegating authority to treaty negotiating team.

The NCAA can go jump in a lake on this one. I see nothing that ODU did wrong. Just another example of stupid, convoluted rules they make up to screw schools over.

I've never been personally but from wha I've heard ODU made the right call with Savannah.
