I'd like to say the Big Sky, but I suspect that the right answer might be either the CAA or the SoCon. Perhaps Ivy, but the lower tier schools there might skew the numbers down significantly.

Probably the SWAC.

Shouldnt FCS attendance be somewhere in the 20k's on average?Especially if FBS attendance is around 50k on average?

Who says FBS attendance averages 50K? That might be true at a few schools, but if the directional Michigans and directional Louisianas average 50K, I'll eat my hat.

JMU's increase along with replacing URI with GaSt should move the CAA higher.

Old Dominion is probably not in that 2010 number either.

SoCon is surprisingly good even considering ASU probably bumps up the average at couple of thousand. 5 schools with enrollment around 4000 or lower in the heart of SEC and ACC football country.

For the 2011, the CAA's avg. attendance was at 11,757 which is an increase of 552. I'm not gonna calculate every conference for 2011, but of the top 4 conferences, it was:

1. Southern: 12,172
2. Colonial: 11,757
3. MVFC: 11,228
4. Big Sky: 10,281

Socon? Wow! I wonder will the Big Sky attendance go up or down now that there's 13 teams.

Not to nitpick, but these numbers are not quite right. You summed the averages of the 11 CAA schools and divided by 11. If you weighted the number of games, the CAA average is a little higher. Take the Accum Attendance and divide by the number of games.

I know I know but yes. But if you add the NC ACC Schools together they draw pretty good.
:D

Clemson is right down the road from us and Wofford. Not that we really compete, but if they weren't their we would pick up some of our own alma mater who have abandoned us along with some general football fans.

Not sure where you got your number for the CAA, but I just went to each school and reviewed their official stats for the 2011 season.

The combined attendance for 168 CAA games (all opponents, home and away) was 1,790,336, for an average attendance (for all games) of 13,987.

If you total just CAA venues/games, the average attendance is 12,124 (60 games and 727478 total attendance).

So the SWAC fell that dramatically this year to not even make the top 4?
