2003 was a 12 game season for 1-AA's.BlackFalkin wrote:5 non conf games??? how did that happen?
I believe it was before the BSC added UNC and Cal St. Northridge had left in 2000. We had that in 2001 & 2002 and until UNC came in which I don't even remember if that was 2003 or not.BlackFalkin wrote:5 non conf games??? how did that happen?

OMG!! An FCS team playing a DII team? I am so glad NDSU is so high and mighty but to bash the teams that do that.Gil Dobie wrote:I remember NDSU playing Montana in 2003
Why don't you ask your fxckin AD?BlackFalkin wrote:EWU only played 11 games. So how did Montana get 12?
12 is an option, not mandatory, in certain years. Apparently EWU's AD didn't feel their athletic dept needed the money.BlackFalkin wrote:EWU only played 11 games. So how did Montana get 12?
Yea, well Montana is spending so much money to get California recruits they took the extra game. Which years can you u get a 12th game? I thought it was only if you played @HawaiiAZGrizFan wrote:12 is an option, not mandatory, in certain years. 12-game seasons happen when Labor Day falls on September 1st. or 2nd. When that happens, there's an extra Saturday between Labor Day & Thanksgiving.BlackFalkin wrote:Yea, well Montana is spending so much money to get California recruits they took the extra game. I think the 12 game option died, however, with the expansion of the playoffs to 5 rounds. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall than rider in the package.Mvemjsunpx wrote:12-game seasons happen when Labor Day falls on September 1st. or 2nd. The Hawai'i thing is true, too (that's why Montana played 12 games in 2001).
It was 2006 before UNC downgraded the BSC.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:I believe it was before the BSC added UNC and Cal St. Northridge had left in 2000. Darell, indeed its right and proper to bash FCS teams for playing D2 teams or NAIA teams especially if the higher division school treats them as regular season games, not exhibition, and includes them in the won/loss record.Darell1976 wrote:OMG!! I think everyone in your conference has played down once....its NDSU's turn to schedule a Sioux Falls, MSU-Moorhead or an Augustana. Don't say it will never happen. NDSU played Mayville State in basketball and yet Oral Roberts is the only Summit League team to have a full DI schedule.JBB wrote:Darell, indeed its right and proper to bash FCS teams for playing D2 teams or NAIA teams especially if the higher division school treats them as regular season games, not exhibition, and includes them in the won/loss record.Darell1976 wrote:

The lower division school is beyond criticism. On that day in 2003 NDSU was the D2 team, just like University of Sioux Falls was the NAIA team. If you want to criticize somebody criticize the FCS teams playing down a division.
Back in 2003 the Grizz schedule provided the nation with some of the biggest football news of the year! D2 NDSU shook the nation because of that schedule. The huge underdog D2 NDSU BISON, almost as big an underdog as they were when they beat Kansas last year, roll into town and take it from the arrogant Grizz and their fans on their home turf, just like the NAIA team, University of Sioux Falls, did to D1 FCS/BSC UND.![]()
Cheering for the underdog is fun isnt it?
Is that why you gave lowly NAIA Montana Tech the opportunity the following year?JBB wrote:Darell, indeed its right and proper to bash FCS teams for playing D2 teams or NAIA teams especially if the higher division school treats them as regular season games, not exhibition, and includes them in the won/loss record.Darell1976 wrote:

I'm beginning to think you don't know what the word nation meansJBB wrote:Back in 2003 the Grizz schedule provided the nation with some of the biggest football news of the year! D2 NDSU shook the nation because of that schedule.
No one cares. Seriously. Go jump in an ice fishing hole.JBB wrote:You may wonder all you want, but the confusion about you is certainly cleared up. You have no reading comprehension, a limited vocabulary and you are a quarrelsome hating type.
When the NDSU BISON recorded the huge upset at Washington Grizz in 2003 the news rolled accross the prairie and of course the nation, like a hugh thunderstorm. It was headlines national sports news outlets, highlights etc. and was lead story on all regeional outlets. It was a big deal and, over the years, the more the NDSU BISON pulled off those types of wins the more they liked it. Now the BISON are icons.
Ps. Im beginning to think you know what miss typed words are you just act stupid like you dont know. Its so cute when you act stupid.
That news was as big as UND beating Northern Iowa. It was a state thing and nothing more. National sports news outlets?JBB wrote:You may wonder all you want, but the confusion about you is certainly cleared up. Another classic JBB post that makes no sense, and yet, still manages to paint you as a dipshit at the same time. Amazing feat reallyJBB wrote:You may wonder all you want, but the confusion about you is certainly cleared up. Even with the extra round, the playoffs still begin Thanksgiving weekend. So there's still 13 weeks to schedule 12 games, such as will happen in 2013.kemajic wrote:I think the 12 game option died, however, with the expansion of the playoffs to 5 rounds.
