I don't see the big deal. I'm sure he was a finalist for the Lonesome Rhodes scholarship.

I bet if he was 3-0 against Harvard instead of 0-3 they may have over looked his creative writing on his resume.

I don't think he was forced out. I think he felt he should have gotten more support from the administration. Too bad. I liked his enthusiasm.
He was never going to be forgiven by some in the Yale community for 4th and 22 and he knew it.
