In other news from the 'Signs You Might Be App's Bitch' section of the newspaper, Western Carolina has hired Jerry Moore's office secretary to be President of the University.

Well if he can pull some recruits and a coach or 2 from App then it might be a great move by Western. App is without a doubt their #1 recruiting rival. Who better to upset that balance than someone intimately involved in App's recruiting? Either way, with this move and App slipping some, one has to wonder if Jerry Moore has much left in his tank. It's been a good run for him and App.

Congrats on the hire! Coach Speir is a great guy, and he will be missed in Boone. He has a lot of fire and is a good pick to rebuild at WCU.

I wouldn't say that App is the number one recruiting rival for WCU-they have been going up against the Gardner Webbs and Carson Newmans for the past few years. App is in a different league compared to Western. That MIGHT change now that they actually have a coach worth a darn.

Good move by Western. Spier did a great job for App and he now has both a tremendous challenge and opportunity.
