Yeah as I was watching the game I was thinking that I I was Montana State I'd have been throwing it up to that guy every time Sam Houston lined up in press coverage on him one on one. Really don't understand why they didn't do that. I think he was one advantage they had. I think he was a physical mismatch for their corners but they didn't try to do it.

Don't think it'd have made a difference in who won or lost given how lopsided the score was but I really was perplexed by why they didn't take advantage of him matching up against Sam Houston's corners more than they did. I mean, to me, Sam Houston was asking for it by putting their corners in man to man press coverage against him. They asked for it but Montana State rarely gave it to them.

I wondered the same thing, John, but about the Cats pass game in general. It became evident very early that SHSU was sniffing out all of their runs up the middle, but they kept attempting these plays. Airing it our would have exploited Akpla's skill as a WR, and may have also kept their D honest, to open up more of the Cat's running game.
