Officials at Incarnate Word on Friday instructed athletic director Mark Papich to set in motion an aggressive plan to transition into NCAA Division I.
The move came within hours of the UIW board of trustees approving the continued exploration of Division I membership.
UIW president Louis Agnese said at an afternoon news conference that Papich had already put in a call to the Southland Conference.
The goal is to solicit an invitation from the SLC that university officials hope will come within a few months.

What kind of university is UIW? I've never heard of it before. The last thing FCS needs is a university thats gonna bring small gates and bring down the division.

Funding is not a problem. I get the feeling they look at what HBU pulled off and wonder why not them as well.
