To cover I would bet:
-ASU
-TU
-UNH
-JMU (but not to win)
-Wofford (but not to win)
-Montana
-SHSU
-ODU (but not to win)

I really can't see ODU-GSU being the largest spread out of this group.

I agree- that line should drop to closer to 10....

That line will be cut in half by kickoff. Not saying it should, I'm just saying it will.

Definitely, and I mean no disrespect to UCA, but whoever came up with these obviously isn't aware of the SLC's history in Missoula...

Lehigh (+2½) at Towson
New Hampshire (+6) at Montana St.
JMU (+9½) at North Dakota St.
Wofford (+10) at Northern Iowa
Central Arkansas (+10) at Montana (I wouldn't touch this line)
Stony Brook (+10½) at Sam Houston St.
ODU (+13½) at Georgia Southern

Maine (+2½) at App State - Should be a close game - I wouldn't play this
Lehigh (+2½) at Towson - Hard to tell in a game that should be high scoring - I wouldn't play this
New Hampshire (+6) at Montana St. - I like UNH a lot in this game, I'd take this and UNH to win outright
JMU (+9½) at North Dakota St. - I like NDSU to win, but the line's too big for a JMU game - they play all games close. I'd play this one.
Wofford (+10) at Northern Iowa - I'd play this one and for Wofford to win - outright.
Central Arkansas (+10) at Montana - Stay away from this one.
Stony Brook (+10½) at Sam Houston St. - Again, stay away from this one - don't know enough about either team.
ODU (+13½) at Georgia Southern - I would actually play this one. As good as ODU looked against that MEAC team, I saw a lesser GSU team play a better UD team last year, on the road. And that UD team had played the option, and maybe a better one at Navy. ODU hasn't seen a good TO offense ever and not even seen one this year. This game could be a blowout ala last year's 2 TD win over W&M.

With you, Trips, Razor and ODUAlum pouring in the big late money on ODU...

Too many home playoff losses in the round of 16 over the past decade for me to feel too safe about it. Although, I can't ever remember a Southland team doing well up there so maybe you're right.

The Southland's record at Wa/Griz is the same as the OVC's record in the playoffs prior to this year:
0-18.
Wanna rethink that bet?

I'm emptying the 401k right now, AZ!

I don't think that many Southland teams have come to Wa-Griz.

Your safest bets...
1. Montana (it's Wa-Griz, and the Griz have delivered beatdowns to better SLC teams)
2. SHSU
3. GSU (come on, it's at home, and GSU has things going on offense now) [EDIT] no, changed my mind. too risky
4. Wofford (don't think UNI can cover that spread)

A couple of these spreads seem pretty easy.
The Appalachian State/Maine game is essentially betting on Appalachian to win since so few games are decided by 2 points or less. I would take Appalachian to cover, there.
Same with Lehigh. Towson should win, and that's all they need to do to cover.
I'd stay away from the other games, personally, though I think that both UNH and Wofford are likely to cover/win. The rest strike me as toss-ups as far as spread/points go.

You're right. It's only 0-12.
From egriz:
Does UCA have enough to not be the next tombstone in WA-Griz, or will it be the same old song and dance? I think it's time to put the gravedigger on standby cuz we're about to have another SLC body to bury. Go Griz!!!

edited to include 2002 NW State blowout. Coincidentally, ANOTHER 31 point blowout.

JMU (+9½) at North Dakota St. - Unfortunately I think NDSU wins AND covers here
Wofford (+10) at Northern Iowa - Wofford wins outright.
Central Arkansas (+10) at Montana - Montana by 24
Stony Brook (+10½) at Sam Houston St. - SBU may win this one outright...they are probably the best team SHSU has played all year
ODU (+13½) at Georgia Southern- GSU will DEFINITELY be the best team ODU has played all year.

I'd kill that Wofford-UNI line. I think Wofford can win outright much less with the 10.
I'd take App only giving 2.5 as well.
Otherwise, the other lines are all within reason.

I'm not saying SBU is gonna win but I think they have a good chance to cover that spread. I hate to say it but SBU is a solid team this year. What scares me is I think they are going to be even more solid of a team next year. They can pass and run the ball. I think there only down fall is the pass defense and that has been improving.

By "they" are you referring to SBU or SHSU? Because it's not clear....
