Does Bo Levi Mitchell have it on lockdown?
318/503 (63%), 33 TDs/13 INTs 4009yds
Mitchell is the 4th player in Big Sky Conference history to pass for over 4000 yards in only 11 games... the other 3 all won the Payton. Erik Meyer passed for over 4000 in 13 games in 2005, and still won the Payton.
The only other real contender IMO is Towson's Terrance West who has an astonishing 27 TDs on the ground in only 10 games.

I take it back, Lehigh's Chris Lum comes close to Mitchell's numbers.
297/443 (67%), 31 TDs/15 INTs 3739yds

I would have to think the fact that Lehigh is a playoff team (albeit a one-and-done one

) will sway the voters. Not that it necessarily should, though.

And I would have to think that the fact that BLM led his team to a NC last year will sway voters. Perhaps they shouldn't, but it seems the voters take into consideration past performance as well, which is probably part of why JC Sherritt won the Buchanan last year despite other candidates having similar if not slightly better stats.

Don't assume Lehigh is a one-and-done just because they are Patriot League. They could make some noise.

Fair enough. If I had a vote it would probably be cast for him, FWIW.

Isn't the Payton voting done immediately after the regular season? I know that it is purely based off of the regular season so it would be pertinent to conduct the voting prior to the playoffs.
