Overall: 13-4
Best Performance: (#4) Northern Iowa 23, (#14) Illinois St. 20 (OT) - Field position must win games, because that's the only thing that explains how the Panthers beat a team that outgained them 443-191 and only lost turnovers 1-0.
Worst Performance: Youngstown St. 34, Missouri St. 38 - In a hugely important game, the Penguins are outplayed by a 1-9 team.
Most Surprising Result: Youngstown St. 34, Missouri St. 38 - A plausible playoff berth fell in Youngstown's lap after they upset then-#1 NoDak State, but now the Penguins will be sitting at home for the 5th. straight season.

Overall: 10-16
vs. FCS: 0-0
Overall: 6-5
Best Performance: Jacksonville St. 38, Tennessee St. 16 - The Gamecocks tried to make a statement to the playoff committee here, but too many losses to other OVC contenders caused that statement to be unsurprisingly ignored.
Worst Performance: Austin Peay 7, (#23) Tennessee Tech 49 - The unfortunate Governors run into an auto-bid-hungry buzzsaw.
Most Surprising Result: Jacksonville St. 38, Tennessee St. 16 - The Gamecocks hadn't played all that great lately, so it's surprising to see them get such a convincing road win over a team that was technically in the conference title race.

Worst Performance: Fordham 21, Holy Cross 41 - 27 unanswered points in the second half to close a 1-10 season is enough to get coach Tom Masella fired immediately after the game.
Most Surprising Result: (none)
