Yes they are. I'm sure chris would be more than happy to show them a good time.

Side Note: Visiting team from the Southland, don't go walking on the ice in the river. It is dangerous and not safe, but then again partying with Chris isn't either.

I was going to jump on the Griz bandwagon too until I noticed you beat me to it.

What, you're not enjoying all the newly-found leg room on the Eastern one? 8-)

:flag:

Blocking below the waste against a vanquished former champion with a woefully small fan base after a rough season.

Not sure which is worse, Kalm throwing flags or willing to be associated with SE174.

Just because he is drunk, doesn't mean he is defenseless.

Griz recieved a nice draw and will easily advance to the next round. I wish we were playing C. Arkansas rather than JMU most likely. Good Luck to the BSC teams.

There is a C Arkansas player already talking Montana trash on his Twitter page. Don't know what it is about guys from the South talking crap. McSurdy will take his head off.

You know, it is really, really too bad that McNeese dropped that close one up there in 1994 At least then it wouldn't be an 0'fer. And that one was oh SO close to going the Southland team's way.

Of course most of you guys probably aren't old enough to remember it.

Yeah. We all are just youngin's and should bow in your direction. :ohno:

I do remember the last time NAU played a Southland team in the playoffs ;)

<<I do remember the last time NAU played a Southland team in the playoffs >>

Yeah that was the beginning...or near the beginning...of the end of the time when McNeese was always a tough draw in the playoffs. During the Bobby Keasler era from 1990 through 1998 McNeese made the playoffs 7 times. They were 5-2 in first round games but the two losses were by 22-18 at #1 seed Nevada in 1991 (Keasler's first playoff team) and by 21-19 to eventual national champ UMass in 1998. Things have defintely gone downhill since Keasler left. Since then they're 1-6 in first round games and all but one of the losses have been blowouts.

Hopefully they'll get it turned around. Frustrates me that they can do things like win at Appalachian State and play competitvely at LSU during the regular season but can't put up a decent performance in the FCS playoffs when they get there.

The thought behind the comment is that it has been a LONG time since a Southland team even played competetively up there. I mean, that was 17 years ago.

Me too with EWU. :D

Actually EWU's last experience with a Southland team in the playoffs was a loss at Stephen F. Austin. Unfortunately that's the only win for the Southland in the playoffs since 2005.

But they'll get at least one and probably two this year due to the way the draw fell. Central Arkansas should beat Tennessee Tech and Sam Houston State should beat the Stony Brook/Albany winner.

Sam Houston State being seeded #1 is kind of ridiculous, though. One has to wonder how the NCAA committee guys could be paying attention to what's been happening over the years and do that. No way any Southland team should be seeded #1 regardless of what its record is unless and until the Southland establishes a pattern of playoff performance that justifies that.

I think Illinois State is probably better than Sam Houston State and they're not even in the tournament.

 True. Must have misread and thought DBJ wrote McNeese instead of Southland.

I really thought SHSU was going to get the #2 seed like McNeese in 2007, with NDSU getting the #1 due to a (generally) stronger conference. ;)
