Former Griz QB Could be in Big Legal Trouble

Former Montana quarterback Jason Washington's Missoula business (406 Motoring) was raided by the feds as part of a marijuana trafficking investigation. The feds have recently been cracking down on medical marijuana operations & this looks to be part of that effort. There don't seem to be any details as to what Washington could be facing personally.
Washington started a few games for the Griz in 2005 after transferring from Bowling Green. He was kicked off the team by Bobby Hauck in 2007 for what appeared to be open defiance of the head coach.

Awful article. Article should have read that his pot shop Big Sky Heath was raided not 406. He does own 406 but that has nothing to do with his medical marijuana business..

I'm not sure you're right on that. The article is very specific that there was a warrant for 406 Motoring & that there were a few warrants for non-pot shops in connection with the investigation. The article also says someone who answered the phone at 406 confirmed it was raided.

Yeah the only reason 406 got raided was because he owns Big Sky Health and thats not the only shop he owns.

Everybody in the world knew he was using 406 to launder some money.

Why would he need 406 to launder money?

Here we go he finally got caught for something...we all know he was involved in hiding the gun in the Jimmy wilson case, hmmm maybe that was the firearm they were talking about in this story...but im sure he will get off just like the rest of them...murderers, drug dealers, rapists, physical abusers, liars, cheaters, burglars, alcoholics, when will this town learn they are all pathetic?

Wait, since when was Washington involved in the Wilson incident? Are you sure you aren't thinking of Qwenton Freeman?
And who is the "they" you're referring to; "football players" or "black people?" Because, either way, it's bigotry of the stupidest order.

Wait, since when was Washington involved in the Wilson incident? Are you sure you aren't thinking of Qwenton Freeman?

At this point I think its pretty futile to argue that there aren't very serious issues involving UM's football program and the law. I keep hearing that "every program has these issues" from UM fans. Really? I am wondering where those programs are, because I haven't seen anything remotely close to the shit storm that's been brewing in Missoula the past few years. Maybe JMU, I'm not sure....
Time to just completely clean house, I think.

What serious legal issues in "past few years"? Washington hasn't been on the team for about 7 or 8 years. Are you counting him? One recent sexual assault charge. Yup, that's bad. No other sexual assault charges, just some innuendo (one involving a situation in which the police declined to pursue it). Taser incident in which the 3 initial misdemeanor charges were dropped to due police misbehavior (and the guys pled to disorderly conduct). Montana's dui reduced to disorderly conduct. A few other dui's and perhaps some loud party disorderly conducts. Wilson biting misdemeanor assault charge was reduced to a very minor citation and tiny fine. EWU, what other serious legal issues in the "past few years"? House burglary was bad, but that was in 2007. That's not "the past few years". UM's stuff gets alot of press and attention, and then about half the time nothing is pursued, the charges go away, or the charges are reduced to something like disorderly conduct.

Eh, until one of Pflu's guys gets in trouble I'll consider it a Hauck issue
(no I'm not going to throw Montana and Middleton under the bus for a stupid decision. I know plenty of great people who have made the same mistake)

Everybody and every school has DUI stuff. There's a better than average chance that Ranger has family and or friends that have gotten in that same trouble.
Cleaning house over what's happened after people are well outside the program? Dumb shit there.

What serious legal issues in "past few years"?
Is this a joke?
There has been some serious shit going on there the past year alone with players getting into trouble with the law.
Let's see....the Donaldson Rape case, which, by the way, was reported while the University was conducting a wider investigation on the same issue in which other football players have at least been implicated. One of which involved a "gang rape".
The tazer incident. The Middleton DUI, the Montana DUI. The Trumaine Johnson biting incident......
Going back further, the Jimmy Wilson murder case......the multiple other DUI's.
I don't automatically cast guilt when these sort of things come up, but there definitely seems to be a trend going on, and to ignore that fact is just silly. Usually where there's smoke, there's fire.
Or am I missing something, and everything is just peachy..........move along, nothing to see here?

"Cleaning house" may have been strong words. I didn't mean that so much in relation to the above article....that happened with some dude that was a player years ago. I am speaking just in general.....there seems to be a systemic problem, and it seems that some definite changes need to be made - at the very least in the way these issues are handled by the program/school. That, or the school needs to start taking a harder look at the type of kids that are being recruited, IMO.

EWU, your post is the joke, because it's completely wrong. There have not been major legal problems in the "past few years". The university's special investigation appears not to have found any issues serious enough to continue her investigation, other than Donaldson (this incident occurred 18 mos ago). The taser incident was dropped. Johnson never had a biting incident, and Wilson's resulted in a minor fine of like $50. Wilson was acquitted, i.e. found not guilty, and that matter was almost 5 years ago.The Montana dui charge ended up as disorderly conduct. Nothing more than dui's and disorderly conducts in the past 3 or 4 years, except for Donaldson, for any current or recent player to my knowledge.
Can you not read or comprehend?

Is 2007 going to be everyones cut off ?
Not jumping on or trying to smack the Grizzlies but want to ask Mr. 5 about this opening statement
A University of Montana investigation into alleged sexual assaults unearthed so many cases that it should continue, possibly for as long as another year, according to a report into those allegations.

There's no indication as to how many of those involve athletes & how many don't.

This has virtually nothing to do with my post. 406's use of the phrases "all the rest of them" and "they are all pathetic" implies that he thinks an entire group of people are pathetic, an assertion of which there is absolutely no basis.
To say there may be issues with football players is not bigotry, but to put up a post that basically says "burn 'em all!" (& again, he's not specific in which group of people he means there) is definitely bigotry.

I wouldn't say the problem lies with the whole team, or even a majority of the team. It's a small minority that's giving the program a bad name. So while I am willing to concede that all of this could very well be a collection of isolated incidents, I'm not willing to accept the "hear no evil, see no evil" attitude that a lot of folks seem to have adopted. The fact that some seem more concerned with sweeping things under the rug rather than addressing the issues is part of the problem, IMO.
