I guess Tim's stock is up, having just clinched that sixth Ivy title. If the dollars are there, why not make the move? Tim may need a new challenge. Coaching in the Ivies is like being in a cocoon. As long as he keeps beating Princeton and Yale, he can stay in Cambridge as long as he likes. Less alumni pressure to win at Harvard than at either Y or P. :twocents:

You never want to stay too long, though. That's what happened with Cozza and he was such an institution that they let him stay 5 years past when he should have been nudged along.

I'm not saying Murphy is even close, he's still a young guy, but it's hard to be a lifer.

You are correct though. Lots of pressure at Yale. People were calling for Williams head after his first year.

The problem is more institutional at Yale, though, I think. Levin could care less about sports and especially football.

That being said, Jack Sidlecki could not stay. Yale lost too many games they should never have lost during his tenure.
