Thinking ISU's gonna take this one, like they did in 2009.
UNI is playing like crap, running out of gas, and, according to tradition, they have to lose a game they shouldn't - this will be it.
If they do manage to win or lose and limp into the playoffs, they'll lose in the first round, at home, to Old Dominion or Austin Peay.

The way I see it, UNI wins, and Ill State, having played no I-A, would have 4 I-AA losses. Would be 1-3 against the 4 likely MVFC playoff teams + have a horrible loss to 2-9 OVC E Ill. A 7-4 JMU, with only 3 I-AA losses (1-3 vs likely playoff), no bad losses, would get in ahead of a 7-4 Ill State.
Ill State wins this, and they are a lock, definitely ahead of a 7-4 JMU, and that could be what would keep a 7-4 JMU out.
So come on UNI!
Is a thread over on the JMU board, on 6 games in addition to JMU @ UMass that JMU fans need to follow. This is one of them. 3 of those 6 games involve MVFC teams. There's never been a week when I've paid this much attention to MVFC football.

I will say that based on IllSt-UNI games and UNI's inability to perform on the last game of the season in recent years. I'm less confident with this game than I was with NDSU and Indy St. I just want to fast-forward and be done with it, the suspense is killing me

I'm going to Macomb to watch the Bison. Should be a shorter and more relaxing day.

Almost exactly what I was saying and you take a shot at me. Look at their history:
Overwhelming favorite in 2009 and lost to ILSU
UNI typically gets weaker as the year progresses (Lehigh and other stupid losses, NDSU this year, playing shitty against SUU, SIU, YSU...)
"Inability to perform on the last game of the season"
UNI
ALWAYS loses a game they shouldn't and this is their last game, soooooo.
There's no doubt in my mind that ILSU has this one in the bag and UNI will limp into the playoffs and win 1 at best and the loss will be against a theoretically weaker opponent, in the Dome. I hope they don't though.
*Cap'n Cat and I will be at ILSU - don't be a pussy Rob and join us.

I doubt you will be in Normal.
We are going to Macomb with some friends. Come to the first playoff game instead. Normal is boring and that field haunts my dreams. Lol

He's just trying to reverse jinx UNI. Poor guy.
Luckily, he couldn't have asked for anyone with more experience and fortitude in offering advice to someone struggling to stay afloat in a sea of mediocrity.

That 2009 game was insane great tailgating though~the girls and I will be there as out tailgate hostess will be deep frying turkeys for tailgate ad I may bring a fine array of canolis for dessert
As for the game ISU has been playing great and we know what we need to do. A win and we get 2nd in the MVFC and probably a 1st round bye. Birds will be ready, it will be windy, which plays into the ISU run offense. Coach Spack finally had this defense playing well and boy has it been playing well. That and I'm tired of hearing all the YSU and JMU minions begging for the birds to lose

Couldn't agree more!
Since you you'll be having some time on your hands during the upcoming post season, any chance you'll be making a trip to The Mecca for a Griz playoff game?
If you're comin' over, please bring kalm with you...you guy's will always be welcome here!

That'd be fun, but it's too cold and loud and green for my tastes.

Correct Robspierre, he's D1B, faithful follower of the Wisconsin Badgers.
We don't need no stinking Badgers

I think a big key to this game is that ISU has had two weeks to prepare for UNI and they are at home. ISU has a beast at rb and I believe they will be able to run on UNI effectively. Ultimately it will come down to turn overs whoever wins that battle wins the game. I will give the Redbirds the slightest edge due to 1) 2 weeks to prepare 2) Redbirds run D is tough 3) Redbirds are at home.

You better be right. If not, you will have screwed my playoff prediction.

I mentioned thier rb number 5 I believe......whats his name again? Michigan St transfer I believe and I am not sure how big he is but he looked like a solid 225 and he runs hard. The MVFC is stacked with great rb's, hardly a team that doesn't have one or two.
