I think Montana State, because we were #2 and #1 lost. But I can see SHSU jumping us because they have not lost. What do you all think.

I think it will be MSU. I've had SHSU higher in my own ballot for a few weeks, though.

With MSU on a bye, I doubt many people will change their minds one way or the other.

For purely selfish reasons, MSU. Beating the #1 team on the road will only help our playoff positioning.

Gotta be MSU. I have not been sold on the Southland since the McNeese teams of the late 90's.

The important thing is to be seeded 1 or 2 so that you don't have to play a road game in the playoffs. Beat Montana and I think MSUs chances of being a 1 or 2 seed are pretty good.

MSU will lose, home or away, in the playoffs, so it's pointless to talk about it.

Agreed. I'll still have MSU at 1, with GSU at 2 and SH at 3.

I have Sam Houston State as #7 and Montana State as #1. Is the Southland really that good that a team from there should be in the Top 5, let alone the #1 team in the country? NDSU, UNI, Towson, Maine, MSU, GSU, and possibly even Montana are all better than SHSU in my opinion. Just 'cause some of 'em have one FCS loss in a tough conference while SHSU has no losses playing pretty average teams, it shouldn't mean SHSU jumps them...

...and that win SHSU has over New Mexico means little to me. FBS or not, the Lobos are patsies.

The rest of the Southland has ONE out-of-conference win...ONE...and it's against freakin' SAVANNAH STATE. Why should I be that impressed at SHSU beating up on a conference like that? I definitely think SHSU is a Top 10 team, but not a Top 5.

Has anyone said Minnesota was any good. Maybe a few Hawkeye fans, that's about it.

That said, I'm sure the UNI fans would love to beat the Hawkeyes, even though they lost to Minnesota.

If the Kats were just squeaking by the teams it would be one thing but no one has come close, except the FBS team we played, to beating them. If you haven't watched the games you wouldn't know but if it is a weak conference they have taken care of business and then some. They didn't only beat up on their conference but EVERYONE they played.
