I think a War Eagle is a term used to describe when someones dad gets a Ass load of money for his kid to play at a school, but even though everyone knows it happened, nothing is done about it.

The NCAA doesnt know right from wrong. They'll punish a school for one thing and like you said turn their back on another thing.. Kinda shady if you ask me. :twocents:

I was hoping to see some rivalries beyond that one... want to see what makes them so special

I think the Weber State/SUU game has potential, the Weber State/Idaho State rivalry has kinda died even though I still consider the Bengals a good rival.

I'd like to consider MSU and UM rivals, but we need to beat them guys a little more often. Montana/Weber State is more of a hoops rivalry.

My reasoning for Weber/SUU is now that Utah and BYU are going thier own ways, it will be a good instate inconf rivalry. Which will only get better as the years go on.

Hard to argue against Lehigh/Lafayette.

146 meetings dating back to 1884.

Lafayette leads: 76–65–4

The argument not only revolves around the football field, but we owe much of our college drinking experiences to these two schools bitter rivalry. (beer pong or "beirut" as they call it in the Lehigh Valley).

Southern/grambling for a few reasons:
1. even with two crappy teams they draw well at the Super Dome
2. it's a pretty even series Bayou Classic started (19-18 Grambling) overall (29-29)
3. lot's of great history and names have played in the game
4. set the stage for most neutral site classics
5. family ties make winning improtant
6. if you can't get laid in New Orleans on Bayou Classic weekend you must be an asexual one legged mutant. :thumb:

Towson and Hofstra had a nice rivalry, and then they went and dropped the program. I actually found out that I played directly against UncleBuck. 2 time out of the 3 times I played them.

A drunken priest who doubles as the team chaplain runs down members of the victorious visiting team fanbase in his car on a sidewalk after the game - you just can't top that.

NDSU-UND because of the deep irrational, pathological hatred some of the NDSU fans display. Weird stuff.

Honorable mention to MSU-UM, because MSU fans are only slightly less lunatic

NDSU doesnt play, nor have played them in 8 years.

NDSU-UNI is the BEST RIVALRY RIGHT NOW.

teams hate each other, coaches hate each other, FANS hate each other. and UNI D coord even left for NDSU!

Just an example of deep the rivalry still is, when in Fargo for the UNI game a few weeks ago, my group of UNI fans were called "Sioux Fans!" about a dozen times that weekend.

They haven't played in football for several years, and it was a game that had nothing to do with UND, yet many Bison fans still have the Sioux on their mind, and they equate any opponent or enemy with that of UND.

You can look right here on this board as well. Lakes cant stop talking about how much he hates UND, and comments on every single North Dakota thread. JBB, who was able absorb several years worth of heckling from the board for his idiotic posting, was not able to absorb the fact that someone put a "sioux lover" tag under his name. Thats it. That's all it took to drive him off the deep end.

App State and GaSo. Two of the larger fan bases in FCS with big home crowds and both travel very well. Historically 2 of the most successful programs in FCS with 9 National Championships between them. Many of their games over the last 25 years have had both SoCon and National meaning. Nice mixture a prue hate and respect between the programs. :twocents:

That's one I'd definitely love to see in person, at either venue. :notworthy:

I'd love to see some of the classic FCS rivalries. Harvard/Yale probably on the top.

Cat/Griz has over 80 satellite parties nationwide, I'm curious as to how that stacks up with other FCS rivalries? I'm being honest here.
