This is what the whole season was about and now it comes right down to it. LU has time to rest and plan. SBU will likely start working on the LU game and not spend a lot of time on LU. It's tough that SBU has 2 long road trips right before this game but that's good for LU. I think this will be a great game that will come down to a close LU win. we shall see.

Stony Brook charters flights for all of their away games and are typically back on campus in just over 24 hours. The length of the trips shouldn't have much if any effect on Stony Brook's play.
Should be a great game though. Both teams could easily be ranked and making strong cases for at large bids if a couple things went a little differently (overtime at utep and the 1 point loss to brown for Stony Brook; James Madison and Lehigh games for Liberty). Obviously they lost those games, but I think both teams might be better than they might look.

Agreed many feel either team will not make make very far in the playoffs. We are just not good enough. It is good to be under the radar for both programs.

It will be interesting, no doubt. I can't wait. These are 2 very good, very different teams. It's Mike Brown vs Miguel Maysonet, haha. Not really, but it could be that simple.

Good article -very fair. And he is right our pass defense needs to improve, that was apparent against CSU last week. We shut down their run game with out much problem. But they were completing passes behind our DB's and scoring . As your writer stated they are D-1 athletes also.

This is going to be wild. 2 teams at 7-3 over all and 5-0 in the conference, Both going for their first ever playoff berth. SBU has a huge run game and LU has a great Passing and Mike Brown game. Can't wait.

Just six days remain until kickoff on Long Island for the Big South championship game between Liberty and Stony Brook. As far as I can tell, this marks the first time that two Big South teams have been undefeated heading into the final game of the season. And one thing is for certain this time: There’s no consolation prize involved. No one gets a share of the title this year without winning this game, and that’s great for the conference.
What’s on the line? Obviously, a spot in the FCS playoffs. The winner gets in, the loser goes home. To reiterate, neither team will get to seven Division I wins without winning this game, so neither will be in play for an at-large berth. I know, I know. It’s a suggestion, not a requirement. Well, I’m suggesting that no FCS team has ever received an at-large bid without getting to seven DI wins, and that won’t change this year.
