OK, looking for 20 teams...
Big Sky: Montana State and Montana
Big South: one team
CAA: Maine, UNH and ODU
Great West: Cal Poly must win out (I don't think they will)
MEAC: one team
MVFC: NDSU and UNI
NEC: one team
OVC: one team (EKU still hast to play TTU and JSU)
PL: one team (G'town at LU for all the marbles)
Soutland: Sam Houston (the rest is a mess)
SoCon: GSU, WC and AppSt
That's only 15 for goodness sake.
The following teams will be 7-4: Towson, JMU, IllSt, IndSt.... help me out here guys. There are going to be a LOT of 7-4 teams with a D2 win. I'm not trying to make a case for the Hens, but I'm having an awfully hard time getting to 20 teams.

There's a lot of scenarios: if G'town beats LU and LU wins out, they'll get in. Also, UCA has a fairly favorable schedule and could win out to get to seven D1 wins. OR, if, and this is a huge IF with their schedule, Northwestern St. wins out they will be in.
After Montana and JMU last year, I think the committee sent a pretty definite statement that seven wins is a must.

JMU, Towson?
A TBD 3-loss MVFC team?
Ditto Socon?
Portland State?
Chattanooga?
A 9-2 Lehigh if they lose to Georgetown?

a) I don't think there's any doubt that if Central Arkansas wins out, they're in at 8-3 and ending the season on a 7 game winning streak.
b) I think Cal Poly WILL win out...they have Eastern at home, and Eastern now has nothing to play for.
c) I think Towson loses to Maine, but wins against UNH & Richmond, and they're in at 8-3.
d) I think JMU wins out and is in at 8-3 as well.
e) If Illinois State beats WIU they're in w/7 D-I wins as well...

Don't know why GATW took his post down, but I agree...PSU is in as well...I think they win out.

Neither Portland St. nor 'Nooga can get to seven D-I wins.
I think he included all the probable 3 loss MVFC and SoCon teams too.

PSU has two sub D-I wins. They can't get to seven.

Just realized that's why GATW took his post down.

Indiana State easily. They should finish 7-4 with an FBS blowout and 7 DI wins. Right?

Also, if Furman pulls the upset on App. this weekend, they're in good shape to get in. Another big IF.

Yup. Forgot two of their wins were against a D-III and an NAIA.

If the rumor is true about Rennie at UNI being out for the rest of the season that could prove interesting in how the playoff field shapes up and also how UNI does in the playoffs. I think their backup will get them to the playoffs with at least one more win but they won't be the favored against many teams as they may have been with Rennie.

If true, I hope they're the seed in our path
(unless we beat MSU wherein I suppose we could get a seed

)

Woof. I remember when that happened to Lex Hilliard the first day of fall practice a few years back.

I don't know about "easily". They will also be 0-3 vs ranked teams.

That's happened lots of times with the 4th & 5th teams in from the CAA....8-3 records without a single quality win.

Terrible news, never like to see a person go down with this kind of injury.

I could see them losing @ Ill St. the final week of the season and Ill St. getting in because of it.

I suspect if UD wins out they are in ...
Big Sky Conference (2) – Montana State & Montana
MSU gets the #1 seed if they beat the Griz - The Griz get a seed if they beat MSU. Sorry, PSU - maybe next year.
Big South Conference (1) – Liberty or Stony Brook
Colonial Athletic Association (5 maybe 6) – Winner of Maine/Towson should be a lock - Maine, UNH, Towson ... all in with one more win. UNH could really use 2 wins to be safe.
JMU in by beating UNH with one additional win. William & Mary and Delaware are in if they win out - ODU has to beat W&M to get in
Great West Conference (0) - Southern Utah might crack the playoffs at 7-4 if they beat UNI (and UNI doesn't slug to 6-5)
Missouri Valley Football Conference (2 maybe 3) – NDSU & UNI (if they don't go 0 fer November!)
YSU in at 7-4 ... InSU might get in at 7-4 but loses head-to-head with YSU ... IlSU not in at 7-4 but in at 8-3
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (1) – Morgan State (!)
Northeast Conference (1) – Albany
Ohio Valley Conference (1) – TTU
Patriot League (1) – Lehigh
Southern Conference (3 ... maybe 4 - or 5!) – Appalachian, GSSU, Wofford -- I'd feel a lot more comfortable if Appalachian beat Furman this weekend.
Samford and Furman are in if they win out in SoCon (and if they beat Auburn and/or Florida!) - Will Samford win 4th slot over Furman by virtue of head-to-head (with The Vermin losing to Coastal but beating Wofford & ASU ?? mmmm...)
Southland Conference (1) – SHSU
** all subject to change due to my mental deficiencies ...

Wow, another promising season by UNI starting to go up in flames. They just need to adopt a Cubs "lovable losers" motif

I don't think so, I think if you replaced Richmond for WM than your statement would be correct. I think in the final two games WM is the one loss ODU can afford. In regards to standings and records, ODU can't afford to lose to Richmond. I don't like ODU's chances if they lose both.
