Franks ran for 234 yards against an awful Southeastern LA who rank 114th in run defense allowing 231 yards per game. How is Texas State going to compete in FBS if they cant even beat a team with one winning season since 2005... I realize Texas State has a big stadium in the state of football err Texas so moving up seems to make sense.

Our big problem is we got Fran as a coach. He brought his son in as a D coach, from Blinn JC. At Blinn, Little Fran had Cam Newton and one of the WRs was Shaun Rutherford. Little Fran brought 4 of his players with him and, surprise, they are all starters. This WR has now become our QB. He hasn't beem a QB since HS and he is middle school, at best. He "fits" Frans O system but he can't pass worth shit. He doesn't check off his receivers, so, if his #1 is covered he scrambles. He can't throw accurately past 15 yards (if that). We had a 75 yd TD pass against SLU but it was a 12 yd (desperation) pass, on blown coverage, and the rest was the WR. Meanwhile we have the #32 (in the US) rated QB coming out of HS (in 2010) riding the pine. This kid (Arndt) started last year as a true freshman and although he got injured in game 7 he had already accumulated:
106/192, 123.1 PE, 1364 yp, (194.9 ypg), 9 passing TDs, 5 rushing TDs
There's a 60 ypg differential between these two

Fran has only used him in mop up situations this year and he is hell bent on using Rutherford the whole season. It's been very frustrating and, if you think about it, if fans can pick up on Rutherford's inability to pass you know coaches have.

We know we have a long road ahead, going FBS. We need more bulk on the lines but, this (QB situation) is a sore point with a lot of us.

We also won't be surprised of Arndt transfers after the season.

Southeastern Louisiana gives up 231.71 rushing yards per game, which is indeed 114th in the FCS. However, this includes this weekend's game where Texas State rushed for 336 yards. If you remove this week's game, then Southeastern Louisiana gives up 214 per game, meaning that Texas State rushed for about 60% more than average.

Southeastern Louisiana lost to D-I Tulane 33-47 and beat Savannah State 63-6.

Sagarin has Southeastern Louisiana at 208th out of 247. Texas State is at 166th out of 247.

This would put Texas State above:

Florida Atlantic (196), New Mexico (193), Akron (182), UAB (180), Memphis (172), and Tulane (185) for currrent FBS teams.

That's 114th out of 120 current FBSers.

which makes it very "politically correct". However it is less accurate in its predictions for
upcoming games than is the PURE POINTS, in which the score margin is the only thing that matters.
PURE POINTS is also known as PREDICTOR, BALLANTINE, RHEINGOLD, WHITE OWL and is the best single PREDICTOR
