There was a bit of a battle between Lehigh and Appy...voters who rated Lehigh in the top 10 rated Appy lower than poll avg, and vice versa. Battle between the haves, and have nots...

Liberty is ranked waaaaaaay too high (no offense LU fans). The Big South is really weak this year and I'm not sure a team from that conference should be in the Top 20.

I also agree that Jax State keeps fooling people.

Poll isn't bad. Norfolk is too high IMO but otherwise it looks OK. Once you get up to 19-20 & higher it's always tough.

UMass isn't eligible.

ps. I think Lehigh is a legit Top 15 team, but not Top 10.

Oh ok. Just wondering since they're in all other polls.

CS decided that since they are giving more than 63 schollies, and ineligible for playoffs, they should not be ranked. Along with Texas State.

Umass and Texas State are in the limbo state - not really FCS, not really FBS

Overrated.

You obviously have not watched Indiana State play this year. They aren't the team that lost 33 games in a row anymore. They are 5-2 with losses only to Penn State and N. Iowa. Not to mention they have the Walter Payton Award front runner with Shakir Bell and he had 145 yds against UNI in a quarter in a half. If he doesn't get hurt in that game, we may be talking about ISU in the top 5. I'm just sayin' bro maybe do a little research before you spat.

Shakir Bell

124 car. 1125 yds. 11 TD 9.1 YPC

Some voters include variables such as program strength in their rankings. A few years back, I can recall a team signing a ton of 2 star HS prospects, and even had a couple of All-Americans...but the coaching staff had a history of weak development...they finished with two wins.
Many, if not most, great players come from winning JR and HS programs and "know" what it takes to develop and maintain a "winning" (championship) program. More than a few times, I've spoken to championship caliber players who've acknowledged their programs (coaching staff) do not run a championship program.

This is a fact.

I'm not saying Indiana State isn't a championship program...just saying that looking at history is a legitimate concern.

BTW, a hat tip to Shakir! Nice job.

History really isn't relevant past the last couple of seasons and since Trent Miles took the reigns in Terre Haute there has been nothing that says this program isn't turning things around BIG TIME. Idk how they aren't higher than 15. I guess losing to Penn St. and the #2 Panthers is that much worse than App. St. losing to Virginia Tech. and #5 Wofford, huh?

He's saying they'd have a win over UNI (MAYBE....gotta play 4 qtrs Shakir) and would be undefeated with arguably the FCS's best RB

Overrated

i.e. not worthy of their current ranking
i.e. not as good as their ranking would indicate
i.e. "why is this sucky team ranked this high, or ranked AT ALL?

Explain how they are currently "overrated"? Inquiring minds would like to know.

I would say anywhere from 14 to 18 is pretty decent for ISUblue. Considering how the usual suspects are playing so far down this year.

 Your words, not mine. They've played one ranked team this year and lost.

BTW, when did my opinion become so important? 8-)

how is the HELL does und get votes?

they have 1 win over a fcs scholarship team, Southern Utah, who has lost to USD & POLY the following 2 weeks, the same USD team that Illinois State ass pounded.

They beat 2 naia teams as well, one was 1-5 and outgained them.

un freak ing. must still be morons mistaking them for NDSU, the toggle system has them right next to each other.
