are there any this yr? isu has a new coach, psu has a 2nd yr coach, unc has a new coach. the longest tenure coach is NAU.
weber's mcbride is in yr 3 of a 4+1 contract. if he goes 4-4 each yr in big sky he gets the 5th bonus year. he has gone 6-2 and 5-3 and in yr 3 is 2-1 so far.

UC Davis joins the Big Sky in football next season and I think their coach is facing a little heat. They are 1-3 this year and lost to DII Humbolt State last week. Since moving up to the FCS in 2005 I do not believe Davis has finished with more than 6 wins in a season. They are calling for his head on Aggietalk.com.

UND's coach Chris Mussman was on the hot seat with fans since our loss to NAIA Sioux Falls in 09 and add our 3-8 disaster last season. But if we win the GWFC or come close doing it, his job may not be in jeapordy unless we end up in the cellar of the Big Sky.

As long as UNC is around, no worries there.

We play them on October 29th. Could you imagine losing to them then the next week falling to Sioux Falls again. Those will be the weeks that will determine our coaches fate.

No current Big Sky team has a coach on the hot seat.
Pflugrad will be there next year if the Griz miss the playoffs this season, but that's it. Souers is under contract through 2013, Kramer & Collins are rookies, and I don't see it happening with anyone else. I guess Sperbeck's seat could get warm if Sac tanks, but that probably won't happen.

Being the GRIZ do not have the money to buy out his contract. Pflu has 1 more year. This GRIZ fan is about 50/50 on Pflu. However, missing the playoffs again, and another embarrassing lost, like Sac State, would turn me toward the GRIZ finding a new coach.

With NAU's having OK seasons (not total stinkers) and an APR rating that is through the roof. I don't think Souer's at risk.

I don't think anyone is really on the hot seat in the conference. Souers may be close but I think the only heat in Flagstaff is being blown in from Phoenix and Vegas.
Pflugrad could be if the Grizzlies don't make the playoffs this year. Unlike most other teams in the conference, the Griz fans expect to be included in the playoffs every year.
Collins, Kramer and Burton all are relatively new. Those schools are most likely on wait and see approach.

I just keep hoping for improvement and I really haven't seen it this year. There are signs but no consistency. I know he will be the coach next year and we should give him at leasat that long. Having said that, he didn't come into a crappy situation, we were in the NC game the 2 years prior to that so I don't feel too bad for him if he can't get it going again in 3 years.

I think he is signed through 2012. Fans are clamoring to see some improvements on the field. The Hornets needs to get at least 7 wins or I wouldn’t be surprised to hear some grumbling. With the senior laden team, imo less than 7 wins is a failure of a season.
Having said that even if we do tank he should get a contract extension for at least 3 years. He has turned the program around and brought back excitement to get some fans back in the stadium and tailgate areas. The bigger worry would be a regional FBS signing him away from us. He is a Nevada alum so when their coach retires, I don’t doubt that Sperbeck would be interested in that opening. Given our program history, we are in no position to chase away a coach that he regained some respectability to the program.

I will reply to this on 2 threads due to the stupidity of this.
Ya lets congratulate Zamberlin on destroying a program, getting fired, and then being an assistant coach on a team that beats said destroyed team.

Why wouldn't Weber congratulate Zamberlin on destroying ISU? I think that gets you sainthood in Ogden.
I'm surprised Weber didn't dump the Gatorade on him when they hired him.

Zamberlin is the defensive line coach for Weber, and Weber's d-line OWNED ISU's o-line. I think its safe to say that congratulations are in order
